“Came here for a date night. We ordered Chicken Momo, Garlic Naan, Butter Chicken, and Tandoori Chicken/Mango juice for drinks. Tandoori chicken did not have flavor to me, BUT everything else was so good! Butter Chicken could've been hotter in temperature but it wasn't a big deal. Definitely gonna come back “

“My girlfriend and I went here for the first time a few months ago and since then we’ve probably gone 40-50 times. One week we went five days in a row because it’s so high quality and flavorful. I do chicken reviews on another platform and this place has scored the highest rating I’ve ever given. 9.7/10 clucks. I’ve been to ≈300 other places specifically for chicken and the chicken tikka kebab from here is the best I’ve ever had. Runners up are Grace Meat + Three, Kimchi Guys, and O! Wing Plus.Anyway - I couldn’t recommend this place enough. It’s a MUST try even if you’re an hour away. Neville or Raj will take care of you and they’re the best in the business.“

“Had their weekend buffet. Delicious food for a very reasonable buffet price. Go and see for yourself. Not sure how much the buffet changes, but some dishes that were present (but not all of them):Tandoori chicken, chicken korma, Tikka, chicken bulgogi, spag paneer, they had several vegetarian and GF options.Milk tea was great.“

“It was good! Very unique experience. Food is kind of a blend of middle eastern and Indian and a bit of south east Asia. Not a very fancy place, in fact I was a bit confused when I entered the door. But the food was definitely with it. Street Parking is free after 5 on Friday night. Service was fast but they used disposable cups.“

“Food is delicious! You will like this place if you like your Indian/ Pakistani food on the spicy side. I was there for a fundraiser where they served lunch and the women at my table were commenting how the food was tasty and flavorful. I especially enjoyed the chicken - wish I had gotten seconds ?“

“Fantastic veggie korma. Rice/naan were on point too. Like they know they good so didn’t even ask me if it was good after I took a few bites. Lol. They have an air of confidence; I love it.Mild can still be a tad spicy, but still not too much. Great unassuming spot..which we all know are usually the best.I live in Chicago, eat Indian all the time, and will most def be back here my next work trip to the STL.“

“I was very happy with my experience at Turmeric. Very chic upholstery and decor with a nice bar area. The lunch menu was a little small but still had a nice variety. My food tasted excellent. Just the right amount of Indian spices and flavors. The service was just as good as the food. Definitely recommend!“

“I recently dined at a Nepali restaurant in town, and it was an exceptional experience. The authenticity of the Nepali cuisine truly stood out, making it one of the best in town. The service was excellent, and the owner's dedication added a personal touch to the dining experience. A must-visit for anyone craving authentic Nepali flavors!“

“I got Onion Kulcha, Paneer Tikka Masala and Gulab Jamun for dessert. The food was ready to go at the time I specified online with no issue. The food was great and my Paneer Masala came with a generous helping of jasmine rice. I had enough for the next days meal. I'm okay with spice so I got a medium heat. Glad I did because It had a kick but wasnt a challenge to eat which is what I wanted.I do wish the online order specified the serving size for the Naan and Gulab Jamun. There were 2 slices of Naan, 3 Gulab Jamun which are small desserts but tasty. I would have definitely gotten a second naan if I knew they were good! Will definitely come back.“

“Review Update: Spring 2024Food quality is better, though still not as spicy. Alu Gobi was flavorful, I enjoyed it a lot! (Vegi Thali is no longer available for lunch, only dinner). Mango lassi was much smaller than before, but I guess thats the sign of the times. Good service, as always. They are consistent and improving. Thanks House of India for a good experience!p.s. No more BUFFET!---------Spring 2023The place looks and feels the same (last time I came was 2018) but the food quality has changed dramatically. Almost all food is catered to the American palate: the samosa breading is more like bread than crispy crust, kheer is sweeter and with less rice, the rest of the dishes on the vege thali seemed very bland. Papadum was delicious, raita was good, but those are not what I come to Indian restaurant for. Service is still great, timely and polite.“

“Pretty solid. Was our first time having Indian, so this was a new experience. We got the dinner for 2, the soup was super good! The chicken tikka masala and the lamb curry was nice, though my lamb had a super crunchy bit that I couldn’t tell what it was. Not as spicy as I was hoping for but I was happy. The rice pudding they gave wasn’t very good, had a muted taste. The bread was excellent. Service was okay, the servers weren’t very chatty and we had like 4 different people checking in. Kind of an awkward experience. Would definitely get carry out or go again!“
“Been going here for years. It was in the current building originally, a few doors down just before COVID and now back in the original location. Always great food. The owner is always there. I question any of the reviews saying the owner is rude or mean.“

“I have been going to house of India since I was a kid, they had the best lunch buffet for Indian food I've ever had. Unfortunately Covid did away with that and I moved away so when I was ordering from DoorDash, I was willing to try another location. the reviews were pretty solid for this one, and I couldn't have been happier with the food that I received. The samosa was great, I've had samosas at so many restaurants, and it's kind of hard to have a bad one, but this one was very solid. The saag paneer (sautéed/creamed spinach with cheese cubes) was badass. I added some of the garlic naan and dipped the garlic naan into the saag paneer....woah. Mouth party for 1. Great flavor, great spices. The tandoor chicken was also very good, however, I think to have this dish at its best it really needs to be fresh out of the oven. And to no fault of the restaurant it takes about 45 minutes to an hour to receive it, so very delicious, but I would love to try it at the restaurant. The chutneys were great as well. I will still visit house of India, because that place has been doing it well for a long time, but I will now add taste of India as another one of my favorite restaurants for Indian food in St. Louis. Very impressive especially for delivery food that takes about 45 minutes to get to you. So it must be that much better in the restaurant.“

“The dining room had be closed for a while but is now reopened. This is my family's favorite Indian restaurant. Owned by the same family for all the years we've been coming here. Always great to find a family owned and operated business to support, and the food is great too. If you've never tried Indian I recommend the lunch buffet so you can try a bit of everything. Glad to see they survived covid.“

“The food here is amazing I'm not sure if it's authentic Indian but if feels like it is. Their naan bread and curries are my favorite it's also not much more expensive eating out here then anywhere else affordable and enjoyable.I got take out from here a lot during the pandemic. Highly recommend!“

“We came here for lunch after my original review and noticed that they either changed their cleaning solutions or diluted it a hit because even when they were cleaning the table right next to us we couldn't smell anything. The food was, as usual, very good and the service was friendly.“

“I went here with my friend who's a fan of Indian cuisine and mentioned this place is good. This Indian restaurant is not like any other Indian restaurant in STL, the street food on the menu is typical of North Indian cuisine, it's unique and filled with flavor. I ordered the Dahi Papdi Chaat and it was an experience in itself, I've never seen a more random combination of ingredients in one dish but they definitely made it work! The dish was crunchy, creamy, sweet, and spicy all at once. The workers were really friendly and everything about the restaurant was appealing.“
