“I have eaten at this resturant about four times. The food was great each time. My son and his family have lived in Salem for 3 years. He loves Bigos. I am gluten free due to a wheat gluten allergy. I eat corn tortillas with no issues. My favorite is the enchilada variety plate. The corn shell tacos are very good. The service is always great. The wait staff is always courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. This is my go to place for Mexican fare.Dietary restrictions: I have to be gluten free. It is very easy to find great food here, even with the gluten restriction. An wheat gluten allergy is different from having a celiac condition. Always know your limits. If you are hyper sensitive and celiac, please know whether you have an issue with cross contamination. Corn meal can possibly have traces of wheat flour. I have never had a reaction using regular corn meal, i.e. masa. Always ask if in doubt. Smaller towns may not have much of a selection, but I have always found that the typical Mexican menu is safe. There are white corn tortillas, so if in doubt ask. These resturants buy a lot of the smaller, masa corn flat bread. If eating Thai, Chinese, etc, make sure the sauces, etc are not thickened with wheat flour. I have had violent reactions from this kind of combo. I cannot think of anything at a Mexican cafe that is in this category. Thai food often uses the rice noodles. I will report as I try the various eateries in the Salem/Dent County area. Buenos Dias/ Tardes !“
