“One of the best restaurants in St Louis comparable to the similar restaurant in San Jose CA.Afghan food is uniquely delicious and flavorful with the Central Asian and Pakistani/ Indian/Bangladeshi/ Iranian types foods, also known as Mughali Cooking. The Chef is from Afghanistan.Location is right in the heart of the great city. Very clean and pleasant.Highly recommend. We go there every visit to St Louis in the last year or so.Vegetarian options: Ashok ( O Sho k ) is a great item with leek dumplings.Parking: 3500 Watson / Potomac“
“This is my first time visiting this absolutely beautiful restaurant! I was pleasantly welcomed by the owner and shown to my table. The ambiance is beautiful & traditional Syrian/Mediterranean which immediately takes you away from where you are. The service was excellent. Every dish I tried was absolutely delicious! I had the stuffed grape leaves, a light traditional soup, and the beef dish served with a light yogurt & vegetables. If you haven't tried this wonderful establishment, you must give it a try! Very unique and a well needed addition to this little cove of Creve Couer! I will definitely be returning often & bringing others!!“
“Fabulous Lunch. We’re seldom in this area and so pleased we happened upon this restaurant. The Moutabbal Eggplant was quite a sizable starter along with plenty of “chips”. My wife ordered and shared the Rozanna Quinoa Salad with Shrimp and I had the Beef Shawarma Taco with Tabouleh side. We’re leaving with quite a bit of food for much anticipated leftovers soon and look forward to many more visits in the future.“
“There are a few Shawarma places which I will drive 4 hours to reach, but this is one of them.Easy to find, in a good neighborhood flanked with residential and other worldly shopping opportunities, makes it a happy little corner of STL. We were greeted by cheerful fellas chopping fresh veggies next to chubby toddler sized cones of fresh meat happily spinning on a grill. The guy manning the counter grabbed samples of every single bread and sauce for us to make an educated decision as first-timers.We had the Arabic Shawarma in both chicken and beef. Both were phenomenal. They gave us additional sides and even more of their delicious sauces for dipping and enjoying.Super friendly staff and incredible food. Not much more needs to be said about this great place.“
“This was amazing! It was a total accident we ended up here, and I’m so glad we did!The service was exceptional and so quick. We ordered Naan and baba ganouch for an appetizer, and then all eight of us ordered something different. We had the Biriyani, lamb kabab, chicken kabab, Sultan Pilau, dumplings, and more. Each dish was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and delicious. They accommodated our party of eight on a Friday night and I know they were booked. I wish we lived here so we could frequent this restaurant often.Dietary restrictions: They accommodated our dairy free daughter in law.“
“I am always so excited to see Cham Bakery at the WashU Farmer's Market. The first time I went I spent quite a bit of money but not because they are expensive but because I bought a lot. The Zaatar bread, Cheese Pide are exceptional. (I would have taken a picture of the Pide I bought today but sadly it was gone too soon. No, I didn't drop it. I ate it. ) The pita was great, the eggs were cooked perfectly and the seasoning was fantastic! The woman working the table is so polite and friendly. I believe her husband gets up early in the morning to bake. YES!! It's THAT fresh!!I'm looking forward to trying their hummus and other tasty morsels.I honestly can't recommend this food enough!!“
“Coming back to this restaurant after 8 years for the Afghani cuisine. The Kabuli Palau with slow cooked Lamb Shank, raisins & shredded carrots was as tender & falling off the bone with wonderful flavors just as I remember. It was worth coming back. ???? ????“
“Great food, fast service!! Best hummus I’ve ever had! Got the gyro bowl and it was fantastic. We also had a Philly (sandwich) which was VERY good. Would order both again!Vegetarian options: Falafel seems to be an option in any bowl/sandwich/salad etc.“
“Went today for the first time as a date night. Had a great time and the food was amazing. Even better than expected. I had the beef shawarma.Expect to pay over $15 for most entrees. The price is the only downside though, and considering everything seems to be made to order the price can be justified.Service was good as well and I enjoyed meeting the staff.I will definitely be backave will bring friends to try too!“
“Amazing Baba Ganoush, Hummus and Tabouli. Grape leaves are fabulous as are falafel. A treat for vegans and non-vegans alike -- plenty of meat dishes as well. After you've had their baba and hummus, the supermarket stuff just won't taste right -- because it's not! Thank you Al-Tarboush.“
“Terrific place for American Greek food. They have all the standards and they are delicious! The spanakopita crust is especially light and filling generous. Yum!You won’t find the truly authentic Blue Zone dishes of lemony garlicky fish and seafood or grain and veggie dishes. Wish they did. But they do have a wonderful spinach rice and comforting baked Mediterranean veggie dish, as well as salad and olives, and Arabic felafel, hummus, and baba ganoush. The restaurant atmosphere is nice, though without a Greek vibe. They do have a patio, but it overlooks busy McCausland Ave.Great service, good food, drinks, and flaming cheese. Nice place!“
“This place was a delightful find! I didn't love getting my food on styrofoam plates, and the ambiance was what you'd expect in an outdated strip mall, the food nore than made up for it! The tuna salad pita sandwich, the falafel platter, and the beef pita sandwich were all great, according to our party members. My falafal was perfectly seasoned and fried, and they were not even a bit too oily. We also got a large, tasty piece of baklava for $5, which we cut and split among the three of us. I would recommend a stop at Pita Plus, if you're anywhere nearby!“
“Dinner at Aya Sofia was wonderful! The setting is very cozy with tapestries and dim lighting. We started with the Hydari, which was incredibly refreshing. Our main was their mixed grill, which had a plethora of meats and veggies with some rice pilaf, our favorite was the kofte! The skewered meats were a touch overcooked, but the flavors were on point! We had house made baklava and Turkish coffee for dessert, perfect cap to a wonderful meal! The service was incredible, can't wait to come back!“
“This is my favorite lunch location in town. We go once a week usually on Tuesdays for goat Keema and Thursdays for goat korma. All of the dishes are delicious with tons of good flavor. The owner and family are so friendly. Check out this incredible family owned business - you won't be disappointed.“
“The food here is so good while I was sleep walking I grabbed my leftovers and woke up with the togo box in my bed. Everything was so fresh, fast, and delicious! Our server Sajjad was great with recommendations and gave excellent customer service. Highly recommend checking them out, last night was my first time in and definitely won't be my last!!!! I wish I could add photos but we ate almost everything before even thinking about it!!!“
“Everything I've got from here has been fantastic. Usually the gyro w/fries is my go to. But the burger is really good and the wings are a GREAT value. And that seasoning on the fries really make them pop. Overall fantastic and all the ladies are very friendly and inviting. The place could use some work but has improved alot in the past couple years. Love the desert display when I walk in, has got bare mostly because I don't think foot traffic has been that great. So I say, everyone needs to try this place and taste food when someone actually cares about it.“
