I have been here a few times. The bottom line is: great food (with some caveats, read below) and beautiful dining room, but with terrible service, especially for a restaurant at this price point. The food is extremely good, and at a similar level/quality of what you would find in the Iberian peninsula. Beware of the portion sizes, however. The grilled octopus consists of a couple of chunks of octopus mixed with a lot of potatoes; not the whole tentacle that is usually featured in North American menus. Same with the gambas al ajillo, which will consist of maybe 3-4 shrimp in total. Make sure you order extra bread to take advantage of the delicious sauce.A consistent issue I've had at this place is the service. It is generally slow, which would not be a problem by itself, but I've had extremely bizarre experiences. One waiter that picks up a single plate from the table, while leaving all others. Waiters picking up plates very aggressively, hitting people and their glasses. Bringing the wrong number of plates to the table after we said we would have liked to share a dessert. Not telling a table of 5 that there are only 2 empanadas per order: I don't mind paying extra, but at least use your eyes and warn us that we are ordering too little! Some of these things have happened multiple times, with different servers. I don't mind this type of service if I'm at a casual diner or fast food place, but I do mind when I'm paying 100 dollars per person.

This is a gorgeous restaurant and art museum. Atmosphere is everything! Drinks are amazing, food is over salted. I'd definitely go back for drinks, not necessarily the food.

One of my favorite restaurants in Saint Louis. The vibe is cozy and rustic but also modern at the same time. The food was amazing, good portions, and flavors are well balanced. The seafood paella easily feeds two people and was my favorite thing on the menu. We also had the fried almonds, pan con tomate, “chorizo” roasted hen of the woods, and patatas bravas (which were my second favorite dish). The waitstaff (we had Grace) were very friendly and knowledgeable about the restaurants origins and gave great food recommendations. Overall amazing experience!

This was our first time dining at Idol Wolf and the food was incredible. The service was hands down amazing, numerous servers stopping to talk and answer questions. We will definitely be returning!

We have previously been to the other 21c restaurants in Lexington and Louisville and had a wonderful time. So, we were excited to try Idol Wolf. The food was very good, some of the best Paella I have had. The gin and tonic was also very innovative and herbaceous. Overall, I would definitely return. The only issue is parking and location, but I think as long as you are aware of your surroundings, it should be fine.

Service was great our server was very sweet and gave us multiple suggestions off the menu. The ambiance is also very nice there was live music! The food was not good and I actually hate to say it. The paella was over cooked and not well seasoned. The sirloin was pre cut and wasn't cooked medium rare but well done. It was laid on a sauce that was like a teriyaki sauce that didn't compliment the steak. The only food I enjoyed from this dinner was the potatoe purée that was served as a side with the sirloin.

Idol Wolf would be a solid if unremarkable 4 stars if our server wasn’t visibly inebriated. She was friendly, but repeatedly forgot our orders, didn’t know the menu at all, and just seemed “out of it” which made for a sometimes uneasy dining experience. I hope she’s doing okay, but I have no idea how the restaurant didn’t take notice or do something about it and that points to a pretty extreme management problem. The food is fine, but doesn’t live up to the atmosphere or prices. Octopus and Kale Salad were highlights, but if these are the dishes stealing the show at a Spanish tapas restaurant, something has gone wrong. Generally speaking the dishes didn’t feel very authentic and weren’t always prepared in a way that was tapas-friendly (not easy to share). At the same time, nothing was bad - just not particularly noteworthy or flavorful.Yes, the space is beautiful. Very well designed, good lighting, great for a date night. The atmosphere definitely saves Idol Wolf - if they can whip up a few more memorable dishes and place a greater emphasis on hospitality, there is potential here.

This was the worse experience ever. What was supposed to be a 64th birthday celebration was totally nauseating.

Wonderful service. Elegant and creative decor. The food was flavorful and pretty, too. We hung out after dinner to tour beautiful, artfully-filled hotel and dessert at bar was phenomenal .

We went for brunch on our anniversary. The eggs Benedict and pork belly roto were delicious and I would order both again. We also have a couple dishes on the waitlist for our next visit. It's not an extensive menu but had a nice mix of American and Spanish dishes, and breakfast and lunch dishes. My grapefruit and mint gin and tonic was also very good but did take a very long time to arrive due to a staff shortage at the bar. There was a good amount of people at the restaurant so it was nicely busy but not over crowded. We're looking forward to our next visit

Had dinner here with my wife and we really enjoyed it. Easy parking, super pleasant atmosphere, and interesting menu with good food. We really liked the potatas bravas and the shrimp. I love white anchovies but the anchovy appetizer was really sweet so it was not for me.... Otherwise very positive experience and would recommend!
