Wow! I had no idea this place was here. I went to visit my sons at USM and they suggested this place. They are conveniently located a few minutes from campus, and the red beans and rice was delicious! Even the gumbo was good. I generally prefer a seafood gumbo, but I was surprised how good the chicken and sausage gumbo was. Highly recommend the red beans and rice.
Small place but this is the best in Hattiesburg. Perfect Poboys and Gumbo. Service is great. We were in Hattiesburg for 3 days, after eating at Art of Roux, we came back the second time and if in Hattiesburg again, will definitely eat here again. Don't skip this place, it's worth stopping and eating a wonderful Poboy and Gumbo.

Came here for my birthday and could not be more impressed! I had the catfish with red beans and rice and it was delicious. My fiancé said they gave her new favorite burger and fries. She also won’t stop raving about their banana pudding! With the quality of food and exceptional service we’ll be back!
