The staff was quite friendly after a brief moment of upset that my cousin Tommy Tallarico wasn't with me.Eventually they got me calmed down enough to place an order, though it did take 45 minutes and half an Ativan.Ordered the ALL STAR special: Hashbrowns in lieu of grits, eggs over medium, bacon, plain waffle...please and thank you.The waiter didn't even write anything down.Instead he called out to the cook using a sort of WH Code System...possibly developed during the downtime of the Second World War.Strange really, when you think about it.Without that absolute nightmare conflict sweeping across the globe, the founders might have never met. "Tom" and "Joe" (clearly code names. "Tom" worked in military intelligence, which means he continued to do so until his death in 2017.) decided that what America needed was a place to get waffles after the bars close.Somewhere with a jukebox, sales tax figured into the menu price, and crewed by real Problem Solver types. People who get things DONE, no matter what kind of fresh hell is going down in the next booth over...Every WH employee is required to take 3 weeks of SEAL survival training as a new hire, and several intensive combat & logistics mini sessions any given year.Strength has built upon strength, 68 years strong, until what was originally conceived as a bulwark against the creeping globalization of the INTERNATIONAL house of pancakes has instead become a juggernaut of safety & security recognized all across the planet.Even the Federal Government has recognized this accomplishment, and decided (as the Federal Government will) to create the WAFFLE HOUSE index as a metric for evaluating disasters.Unlike life and love, the WH is seemingly NEVER OVER.Every hour of every day, they are there.Bring them your worry, your fear, your stomach full of cheap daiquiris...they will feed you, protect you, and have somehow managed to keep their prices in range of the WORKING POOR that once dreamed of joining the "Middle Class" in this blighted nation.I paid 13 dollars pre-tip for an incredible meal, cooked fresh to order and on the table at a. speed that shames any late night burger hell you care to name.I tipped 5 bucks, and thanked the crew for their service (which is ACTUAL SERVICE, and not just a semi-socialist construct designed to provide opportunity for the aforementioned American Working Poor provided they are willing to murder strangers and topple freely elected government across the globe without asking too many questions)TLDR for all those with TikTok brain:Go eat at Waffle House. “Quick and easy! They were fairly busy but still were able to get us in and out without hiccup.Dietary restrictions: I'm a go to girl I haven't tried everything. Grit sausage cheese bowl or Fiesta omelets would be the conversation.Parking: Tight parking if they are busy. “Arrived slightly confused, as I was actually headed North at the time. Nevertheless, the staff was helpful with cool rags for my forehead and a selection of smelling salts to assist in rousing me from my (quite understandable) state of Directional Disfunction. I can't overstate the helpful friendliness of the staff. Perhaps most charming of all was their insistence on letting me sample every single menu item, as my initial order of a bacon/egg bagel was deemed far too pedestrian, and could only be prepared after first providing me every other possible option. 5 stars. Would receive wrong order again in a heartbeat.“
