Several years ago, I was elated to discover Lou's while visiting in Jackson. I discovered it online while researching restaurants/ rankings. It was love at first bite when I discovered the wonderful short ribs, not to mention their fabulous bread pudding with house made ice cream. I've made it a point to dine there whenever I'm in Jackson a several times a year. Needless to say-- my last few visits over the past year haven't been as exceptional. There seems to have been changes in the kitchen. The hostess that eventually greeted us at the front of the restaurant was not friendly/ inviting. She never smiled once the entire evening. The restaurant was only a 1/4th full of patrons. Our entrees were lackluster @ best. The once wonderful bread pudding ended up being a corner piece that was dried out around the edges. Certainly was not a $13 dessert!! I'll reflect on my past incredible experiences @ Lou's as I discover other dining options in the greater Jackson area. Thanks for some incredible food over the years....

Met a friend for lunch. He ordered the pork chop lunch special and I ordered the salmon. Both of us cleaned our plates. The food was excellent!

Good food, and a pretty goodspace, which seems to attract a lot of people from outside Jackson. But way overpriced for what it is.

It was good not great, bourbon was really high priced. Staff was great and attentive. Restaurant could be way better.

This place is quickly becoming a favorite. We have been in now 4 times and everytime we go whether it's for a full meal or just drinks and some apps at the bar, food has always been good no the service is always exceptional.

Pretty good. I was glad to see a crowd though the fare is far different from its predecessor

Excellent! Hard to choose between Elvie’s, Manship, Pulito and Lou’s in Belhaven. They are great restaurants.

My Partner and I visited this eatery right at opening. We wanted to sit at the bar but all the seats were taken. I then asked for whoever was next in rotation. Ashley had the pleasure of taking care of us and we were her only table for about thirty minutes. She was very attentive and knowledgeable about their menu. The only let down was when her second table arrived (a Party of Six,) she told them about the house specials for the night (a catch of the day and a steak special, which all sounded amazing.) I did felt some type of way about not hearing them before we placed our orders. Back to the food... it was ok. We might give them another try. -Shrimp Appetizer (I always compare these type of apps to Bonefish's Bang Bang Shrimp. Lou's sauce tastes very mayoish and I asked for some comeback to dip it in. Their comeback did not have that sweet element I was yearning for.) -Rolls (giving very much Sister Schubert roll. For some reason I was hoping they were homemade.) -#7 Burger (the beef patty was seasoned well. LOVED the candied bacon component. Their fries were nice! Hot crispy, thin and seasoned.) -Patty Melt (the sandwich was very salty to me. Perhaps from the cheeses? The onions rings were giving onion strings, thin and very greasy.) -Blueberry Cake Cobbler (this was the show stopper! Our ice cream was placed on the side due to their freezer not freezing it properly. It was melted upon arrival. The dessert itself was very tasty.)
