“Saw this place on Yelp and reviews had our mouths watering! Passing through McConb, so a quick detour off I-55 didn't seem bad.... Arrived and squeezed into slim parking in front. Only to learn... no food service tonight. Dining only on Weds, Thurs, and Fri. If it was mentioned in reviews, I must've missed it. Giving four stars for the friendly fella at the bar who gave us the sad news.“
“Great place to hang out with friends,unless you're on disability and one of your servers is not satisfied with your tip and decides to charge you for something you didn't buy, and forget your order for something to had wanted which is not good for someone on a limited budget and not a lot of extra time.“
“Oh wow! Food is great, bbq ribs always delicious. We order once a month. Get plenty with large plate ribs, we have to eat half of the large plate, eat the rest as another meal. Down home. Menu on building. Chicken so good, smoked pulled pork awesome. Have not tried desserts. Open Weds thru Saturday for now. Give it a try!“
“The new management is making great progress with this place. Rooms are being refurbished and the place is miles ahead of where it was last year. We had a clean room with new furniture and clean new towels every day. Every morning someone was walking the parking lot picking up pieces of litter, and that little detail was appreciated because I can’t stand trashy parking lots!“
“On Friday, I ordered a plate lunch to go. It consisted of two pieces of fish, potato salad, baked beans, spaghetti &cheese, roll, slice of cake and sweet tea.The fish was moist & lightly fried, the potato salad delicious and I loved the cheesy spaghetti. I keep forgetting to Take Pictures ! But this was ate in my lap under a shade tree. WILL TRY MORE Dishes/entrees from there.“
“I was still thinking about the food the next day. Filet was tender. Mashed potatoes, well seasoned, maybe overly so. The cucumber tomato salad surprised me. I was expecting to taste zucchini. My salad was a Queen of Hearts. Crispy with vinegrette, maybe raspberry. Loved it. And the bread pudding...I preferred the crispy parts.The beginning of the evening was a bit off. We were offered seats in the bar instead of their asking our preference. And when I ordered my steak medium, the server questioned me, telling me "it's pink."I flatly repeated, "I want medium."She returned and apologized because my mouth didn't say it, but my face did: this ain't my first damned steak.Parking: Parking is ragged. “Well as staff helped me with taking a really bad day to make it better. I walked in and I was closing time and I told him my situation about breaking down on the highway don't have a vehicle staying in a hotel . And how I needed something to eat in the walking distance. They were nice enough to get me an order together even after they were closed. I'm in the business so I know what that's like. The manager her name is Kelly really took care of me she actually paid for my meal.“
