“We held a surprise birthday dinner for my boyfriend’s birthday on 8/2/2024. The service was great, the food was great, everyone was so friendly! The salad bar was tasteful and also clean. Our waitress was Megan and she was so attentive and patient with our large party. Our appetizers and steaks come out at a timely manner and cooked to our expectations.”

“Just ate lunch at the Punjab Palace on the Frontage Road in Meridian, MS. My son ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, while I ordered the Butter Chicken. The location was once the Checkerboard, so it is not a new facility, but it was clean and neat. The staff were friendly and quick. The food was incredible! I mean, incredible. Best Butter Chicken I have ever had. The Naan was perfect. We will go back. Their hours are 11 am to 10 PM EVERY DAY. I can't brag enough about it. Next time I will try the Chicken Currie. I recommend the Punjab Palace for really good Northern Indian Cuisine.”

“We stopped by on our way home from vacation. The cashier was super friendly and sweet. The service was good, we got our food quickly. As for the food, it was really good. Great little mom and pop kind of place. It does seem a little run down, but it seems to be a very popular place, they stayed pretty steady on business while we were there. We would definitely stop again as we are not people who like to go to chain places while away from home.

“My husband and I had finally went. I got a chitterlings plate with Mac and cheese and candied yams. I came for the chitterlings my plate was $40. The chitterlings was definitely tough a little disappointed, but however the sides was so delicious and my husband plate meat loaf mashed potatoes and candied yams also was delicious i definitely will go back but will not be getting no chitterlings customer service was also good everyone was super nice”

“The outside looks deceiving with its barred windows, but inside is some of the best Mexican food you can have anywhere locally at a decent price.

I got the Barbacoa burrito, two papusas, and 2 tacos. The pick of the lot was the burrito. 🌯 then the papusas then tacos. I don’t know how they made it so good, perhaps the tortillas are homemade, but it was a perfect size and just absolutely slamming.

Then the papusas were soft and fluffy with a garlicky peppery sauce on the side and some kind of spicy slaw to go on top.

The tacos, while being bare bones, still packed a load of flavor once you hit them with the pico and some sauce.

Also FYI it’s cash only.”

Taking that one server aside, the view is fabulous and the rest of the staff fabulous. As a person who actually travels for a living, highly recommend. Stop by for good drinks and food vibes.”

I'd recommend going around lunchtime during the week, as this is when its the most crowded and the food is rolling out of the kitchen hot and fresh. They've got powerful A/C in this place. You can sit in the outside room with the big glass windows/ceilings and get blasted with good cold air, perfect during the dog days of summer.

Prices are a bit better at lunch time too.”

“We dined in for lunch for our very first visit here. The young lady that was training at the front did an excellent job with taking all of our orders. Our food was brought out pretty quickly. It was hot, fresh and great! I loved the meatballs and garlic bread. The Tiramisu was also delicious! I will definitely stop in again in the future when in the area for work!

“We ordered two French Dips, one King Club, and one regular Club via the McAlister’s website. The order was filled accurately and completely. I didn’t see the reviews on here about bugs or contaminants (e.g., mild) in the food until after my own experience. Due to my career experience, I’m often leery of “takeout” and very diligent in inspecting our food prior to consumption. Fortunately, we didn’t have either of the aforementioned issues.

My order was placed online and picked up at the restaurant on Father’s Day. While I understand holidays can often be busy and quite possibly hectic for the staff, it was not busy when I came in to pick up my order around 7:20-7:25 p.m. I noted around 2 to 4 couples or groups dining in the restaurant. One woman was waiting for a pickup order and a man walked in ahead of me to place an order just as I arrived. I noted 2 men working in the kitchen, 1 man taking the male customer’s order at the register, and 1 woman doing something behind the counter. While I wasn’t necessarily in a hurry, I did get a little perturbed that I had to stand there for a few minutes before the woman finally offered to assist me. I don’t intended to sound impatient, but I deliberately showed up 5-10 minutes later than my pickup time so the staff wouldn’t feel rushed in the event they were busy, my order was sitting out on the counter, and she didn’t appear to be busy while I was standing there. I’m pretty easy going, so I saw no need in complaining or causing waves over it—I just want to be open and honest about my experience. One other thing…I briefly check any takeout orders for accuracy before leaving restaurants for a multitude of reasons. When I interacted with the staff to go over the order with me, I got the vibe that I was being a nuisance. They could’ve been tired from a busy shift. I could’ve just got on their nerves or completely misinterpreted the staff’s attitude. Who knows. While I’m not usually bothered by this, someone else may be offended, upset, or put off by the attitude and overall perception of the staff. In the service industry, perception is everything and a driver of consumer expectations and experiences.

I can’t accurately speak to the facility’s quality, but it appeared clean and pleasant at first (and short-term) glance.”
