I was in Vicksburg for work and decided to try the Gumbo Pot for dinner. The place was packed however, we were seated quickly. The service was slow but with only one server on the side of the restaurant she was doing her best. I ordered the 8 crab legs clusters. I can only speak for lunchtime...Before coming to Vicksburg, this was one of the places I had scouted and wanted to try. Being near the river, you'd expect good gumbo and creole. They delivered!They run a lunch time buffet. They had deep fried liver. I can't do that. Just can't. So I had a shrimp po' boy and a cup of the gumbo.Someone else said it, so I will say it again. I am well please with The Gumbo Pot catering. They catered a business function for me and DID NOT MISS!!! Everyone loved everything from the steaks to the white chocolate bread pudding!! Both the food and service were absolutely amazing. The owner had great communication prior to the event and perform a post event follow-up. That type or engagement doesn't happen often and for that not only do I highly recommend this establishment but I will also be back!
