If you’re in Missoula this is one of those need-to-go places. It’s a classic, with some of the best ice cream in Missoula, possibly even the best. If you do visit expect a line but it’s worth the wait. Big Dipper is a wonderful treat and place during hot summer evenings or really any time.

I tried the flathead cherry sorbet and it was amazing, it had little bits of cherry which was great, and a few little bits of cherry pit but even with that I would get it again. My wife tried the salted caramel as a Sundae with chocolate sauce and caramel, it was okay, maybe would have been better plain. Would try again! They always seem to have one vegan flavor in addition to the sorbets which is really cool.Vegetarian options: Rotating vegan flavor and sorbets

Hard to believe a walk-up ice cream stand is busy in January, even late on a Tuesday night! But yep, it's just that good...a Missoula icon!! Every flavor from cardamom to mocha chip, even mojito sherbet!!

Always stop here when in Missoula. Usually multiple times. Ice cream is super good, the line can be a bit long in the evening but they keep it moving. 10/10. On a warm, sunny evening, it's a great location to walk off the ice cream belly blues after going for the large size.One of my favorite ice cream spots around the country.Quality is good and creamy. Sizing is on point. Customer service has been very good with each experience.Outdoor seating with plenty of space and picnic tables. Great atmosphere. Many laughs and cones.

Small towns have ONE cream stand. And this is the one. A local meet and greet feel. AWESOME ice cream too.
When I ordered, I let them know about my allergy to dairy. When they prepared my order, they thoroughly cleaned the whole area first. No problems from eating at all.

Super nice service and generous scoop sizes! They have more "classic" flavors compared to something like Sweet Peaks, but still hold it down with their own rotating menu. We got the huckleberry and caramel waffle (rotating) flavor. Both were delicious and the double scoop is perfect to share. We were just passing through Missoula so probably won't be back soon :p but would recommend this to anyone visiting.

Visiting Montana this weekend for the first time ever. This place always had the longest line so I was intrigued. The line moved faster than expected but I feel like I was still in line for like 10 mins + I am not a fruity ice cream girly but I saw all the reviews saying the huckleberry is what they are known for. They do samples so I was able to give it a try. Super smooth and not an overwhelming sweet berry flavor. I got the Oreo mint and vanilla Reece's. Both are delicious and exactly what you'd expect from those flavors. The staff seemed very nice and helpful.

Cute ice cream shop… but the best part about it is their fabulous homemade ice cream!!?I was there at night with a huge crowd waiting but I thought that the girls inside did a great job keeping up with all the orders.??Only there once, but definitely want to stop there again!!
