This place is an icon, in business since 1937. Lodge look, tasteful neon. I ordered a half pound bison burger medium rare. Like eating 4 sliders with gooey cheese and fried onions optional. Picked homemade loaded potato salad and it was delightful. Took home 4 lunch next day. Great bartender who loved her job. Friendly locals, one playing guitar classic country.
The food is always great here, one of my favorite places for a burger, but often when we have visited there has only been the bartender on the floor and had we sat at the bar we would likely be served faster but we chose a booth. If there is more than just one bartender we certainly get served faster. The atmosphere is dark even during the day but I suppose that’s what you expect from a bar.
