Food was delicious but service was awful. Our group was for 7 and our reservation was for 7:30 pm The waitress took our drink order shortly after arriving but took 30 minutes to make our drinks and an hour until she took our food order. 45 mins went by until we received our apps and an other 45 mins for our main dishes. We did not leave until 10:30 pm !! Waitress never asked us how our food was, judged us on our food orders and never wished us a good night when we left. No communication from her unless we went searching for her in the restaurant (it was not busy) and we were noticing other tables that showed up after us receiving they’re food before us.

I want to start out saying the food was phenomenal and the atmosphere was very pleasing and beautiful, but our service was so beyond disappointing. We were there for a birthday dinner and really looking forward to it but we waited at least 20-30mins for our drinks and an additional hour for our orders to even be taken. Then when our waitress came to actually take them there was no apology or mention of the wait time. Our food took about an hour to come out and it was so good but no check ins from our waitress about our apps or meal to see if we needed anything or if it was ok. We had to ask for pepper and water refills. At the end of our meal we were all clearly done eating for at least 15mins and still no one came over so I had to go find our waitress and ask for our bills. All the while this same waitress was waiting a table behind us and was very attentive to them and was always checking in with them and seeing to their needs. So to see our waitress treating a different table so drastically different was very frustrating. The service was so not worth the money we paid to eat here which makes me sad to say because the food and drinks were truly amazing but service like that makes it hard to want to go back.

I had the sea bass, l found it mushy no texture to the meat. The filets were small and had little taste. The veg where not cooked enough. The noodles were OK but didn't seem to go with the dish. The only good thing is l wasn't charged for my meal, as l hardly touched it.

This was our first time at Maxwell's and it did not disappoint. The food was fantastic, the ambience was great and the service was exceptional. My wife and I both agreed this is our new go restaurant.

Comfy ambiance and terrific service. Lovely Prosecco cocktail, great wine selection and the food was hot and in large portions.my steak was cooked exactly to my liking and the pork belly and scallops to start were brilliant!

Menu never disappoints. Great starters, great mains, wonderful desserts! Absolutely love the braised pork belly and the wild mushroom gnocchi; cannot go wrong with the oysters Rockefeller and the brussels are absolutely amazing. 10/10.

The food was fabulous! Service was a bit slow however it was Valentine's Day and they were fairly busy. Our server was pleasant and very friendly. I would recommend this restaurant for any special occasion. We will definitely go back,

The ambiance was very good. Upon arriving for a 5:30 reservation, we told the server that we had a 7:30 show at the Playhouse. At 7:10 we had still not been served our meal. We left at 7:20 with no food. We were assured (at 7:15) that they were just plating our chateaubriand, I suppose suggesting that we eat a $130 meal in 5 minutes. We were still charged $200 for our wine and cocktails. Super disappointing for our first visit.

Best meal I've had in the maritimes, surprised the kids with "something fancy". We started with a shrimp cocktail and bacon wrapped scallops which were done perfectly.3/4 of us had steaks and they all came out perfect, the meat quality was top tier and all of the sides were delicious and well plated.The service was friendly, though slightly slow, it was worth the wait. Definitely felt under-dressed as well.All in all though, highly recommend.
I had the buffet and the food was cold. Selection was excellent and area was clean and well presented. However, the food was cold. Others had the eggs Benedict and found it excellent.

Ceasars salad was probably the worst I've ever eaten. For the price point and restaurant, I expected really good. Even mine at home is better, which is not experience you want when dining out. I had the striped Pan Seared Atlantic Striped Bass and it was not great. Very bland with undercooked Brussel sprouts. Actually felt a little nautilus afterwards. My friend ordered the lobster risotto and had to fight too hard to get lobster out of tail. We had to ask for tool to remove and even then was difficult. I believe it was undercooked because I've never had this issue before. It should be served already shelled or provide proper tool with meal. In all, 1sy and last visit. I was going to go for anniversary but this experience has changed my mind.

Maxwells Steak & Seafood serves the most consistent dishes out if their kitchen, the chefs are the best.... When we are away from home and looking for good food Maxwells is the place! The ambiance is great for business meetings, and open to social conversations with others. The servers are seasoned and personable, and sure to make your visit enjoyable and memorable. It only takes one visit to be hooked on ALL Maxwells have to offer! Well done! Maxwell TEAM!

My boyfriend & I were here for dinner on December 9, 2023, as first timers. James was our waiter. Great server and a sense of humor (the pepper grind lol). We sort of expected some bread in a basket at our table (as is with similar fine establishments). Our food was fresh & delicious. My tenderloin was cooked to perfection. I'm very picky BTW! Would definitely recommend Maxwell's for an anniversary, birthday etc. Thank you for an enjoyable dining experience. Merry Christmas!

out of the 6 of us 4 ordered steak which they said taste delish but was cold. and I ordered the short rib which was delish but the veggies with it were under cooked. and the other was the gnocchi which was made to big but was still tasty.
