... very disappointed. I've lived in multiple cities and eaten lots of Thai, Suwana's Thai Orchid was the worst I've had any where. Overcooked, no flavor or under-flavored, order was wrong as well.

Good food with a good amount of spice. The reviews here were mixed so I was a little nervous to try it but it was close to the hotel and I didn't want to drive anywhere else. Definitely worth the visit! Our server was attentive. The dumplings were average but the green curry was excellent!

While in Asheville, we stopped at Suwana’s Thai Orchid for dinner and we had high expectations because of the reviews. When we arrived, we were able to sit wherever we wanted because they weren’t crowded. I noticed that the atmosphere and decor was pleasant and relaxed. So that only increased my expectations.I ordered the Green Curry and my daughter ordered the Shrimp Basil Fried Rice and an order of Spring Rolls. The appetizer came out first and they were slightly bland so we put salt on them to flavor them up. My daughter’s Chicken Fried Rice was also bland and she had to keep putting salt on it to add flavor.Needless to say, she wasn’t happy with her dish. My Green Curry was decent but the chef definitely could’ve made the sauce slightly thicker and added more chicken. I was disappointed with the outcome and I’ve learned that there seems to be a difference in what some reviewers consider to be flavorful or delicious. The service was very good but overall, i would not try Suwana’s Thai Orchid when in Asheville again.

Owner is openly racist, and it’s well-documented. They charge automatic 20% tip for diners that are of certain races that the owner believes leave bad tips.Don’t support this place.
Food was good service was good. The reasons behind the 4 star is this place is tiny. Asheville is busy so parking and walking is tough for us old people. Lol. There is parking across the street at the Asheville hotel. Paid parking of course but you might get lucky on the street. If you like Thai it is a cozy little place with good food.Wheelchair accessibility: Drop out on the street and park.

I have been a customer a couple of times and had decided to stop because the food was so underwhelming for the price. Then I find out that the owner is illegally adding gratuity only to customers who she believes will tip poorly, based on their perceived race and/or nationality. So not only would I not go back because of overpriced and mediocre food, I will make sure that every person in Asheville, local or visitors, know to not patronize this business.

Ordered some chicken larb and crispy rolls for takeout. Visually everything looked good though that's about the only positive. The very first bite of larb was quite gamey and full of connective tissue, the nice crunchy popping kind. Virtually no flavor, none of that much needed acidity to possibly mask the gross chicken. The crispy rolls were undercooked; so you as you can imagine, quite doughy and chewy with raw veggies inside.
