“This place is timeless. The interior is cozy and has plenty of seating options (big tables, small tables, barstools, those old timey school desks with a mini side table). They don’t have much in terms of “real food” but the baked goods are very good (from Ninth Street Bakery). Then of course, there’s the coffee. I almost always go for a latte or cappuccino - the espresso is rich and smooth and without a hint of bitterness- but they also have classic brewed options from local roasters. Once you’ve had a lavender eye opener from here you’ll never go back to those Big Coffee chains.Dietary restrictions: Soy / almond / oat milk options“
“Beyond the co-op model, the people are what set Weaver Street apart for me—Cam in particular went above and beyond to help me out and make me feel welcome in a way that mattered to me. Also some very solid prices on excellent cheese and produce!“
“Cool place, but the service is unbeatable. Went for the first time today, was helped out by A-Rod, who was really good at making you feel welcomed and helping you learn more about kava and find exactly what would work best/what you're looking for. Great place, plan on going back“
“I love coming here to study and hang out. I’ve tried several of their bakery items (no bake cookie, molasses cookie, biscotti) and have really liked them! I think perhaps some of the “unfriendly” baristas are just introverts. Nothing wrong with that! I love their teas and coffee. ❤️“
“Oasis a little gem in the middle of Carrboro! A great place to get a high quality kratom or kava drink, and I love the new mushroom line of medicinal mushrooms! Lion’s Mane, Cordyceps, Reishi and Chaga are my favorites! They give you energy without the jitters of coffee and I’ve even noticed my memory improve with daily use! Highly recommend! The space is gorgeous too! They have some great local smokables and edibles if you are into that kind of thing! All kinds of unique products to check out!“
“Overall great restaurant for vegans. But, there is a seating problem. Students have one coffee sit at a table for hours and stay too long preventing folks who would like to sit and eat at the restaurant. Starbucks had the same problem in small college towns. Some of the Starbucks created a long table with chairs or benches with computer hook ups. Then the single coffee drinkers were encouraged to use that space. Not a bad idea. This will not stop me from going to Cocos , I just have to pick my time carefully.“
“Oh my god it is AMAZING! I got the sweet potato and oat milk lattee made with actual sweet potatoes and it is the best coffee drink I’ve ever had! Not too sweet. The croissants are amazing and they have fresh pumpkin rolls the size of actual pumpkins. The rosemary sweet potato scones looked good too!“
“Probably the loveliest of lovely places to hang out in all of the triangle; one of the few outdoor hangouts left after Honeysuckle closed! Conveniently nestled between E Franklin St and the trees off the Bolin Creek trail, this is just the perfect location with the perfect amount of shade and nature vibes - perfect place to read a book, catch up with a friend, have a first date, or get some work done in calming environs- highly popular for this reason. In the winter they have blankets and heaters, and during the summer they have bug spray out and the shade helps buffer the heat - be aware there will be plenty of bugs/critters, but it goes with the lovely outdoor NC experience! The internet has gotten much better over the years and you can definitely access the WiFi now without issues (was not the case a few years ago). There are only maybe 1-2 plugs on the premises, though best to charge up before you come. Drinks are delicious with plenty of coffee, tea, non-caf options - my favorites are the brown sugar oat latte and the ginger beer cold brew. Service is good with sweet and helpful baristas - there is always a line here but it goes decently quickly. The only thing I wish I could change would be longer hours so you could spend even more time here early AM - later afternoon/evening!“
“Amazing taste every time I visit. Nice vibes, peaceful place. Highly recommended.Low carb and very healthy food.Vegetarian options: You can customize your food if you don’t eat meat or animal products.Dietary restrictions: You can customize your foodParking: Parking is free but limited. Place tends to stay full so most likely you will have to park in the street.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps for wheelchairs available.“
“Order the Tigerz Woodz!! I repeat, ORDER THE TIGERZ WOODZ!!!! The most incredible Arnold Palmer you’ll ever have in your life. My dad has been ordering nothing but Arnie palmers when he goes out for the past 20+ years and he claimed this is the best one he’s ever had. The mango pie drink was also absolutely exquisite ?“
“I was new to the area a year ago and set out to find the best coffee shop in Durham. I had Bean Traders early on and kept trying other ones and nothing else was close! Whether it’s plain coffee, a latte, or any of there delicious food items they’re the best around. It usually is pretty busy (because who wouldn’t want to be there!?) so be sure to allow plenty of time if you’re planning on hanging out there.“
“This place was great! The breakfast burrito was tasty but also semi healthy (had a good amount of veggies in it). Got a dirty chai and it was perfect. Definitely the best dirty chai I had during my stay. Staff was super friendly and the inside has a great vibe and a good amount of seating.“
“Such a cute coffee shop on Franklin Street! There's a lot of space inside to do work or chat with friends. I got a lavender iced latte, which I thought tasted great. It's also the same price for any size drink! The barista was also very nice and helped me pick out coffee beans.“
“Had a lovely experience with Lauren who recommended the taro slushie which is definitely my new favorite! They had just gotten through a big rush and were out of a lot of ingredients, but they were very knowledgeable about tasty alternatives for us and for the other customers. I'll definitely be back for more taro slushies!“
“Ran out of BOBA. A dirty tiger W/o boba is gross. They have a long booth of seats so you are sitting right beside people at the next table. No privacy.Parking: Street very busy. May need several loops to get a parking place, that you must pay for.“
“I've written comments before that no one read. I get responses like, "So glad you love Clean Juice....." You're NOT listening, so I don't expect a response or any kind of acknowledgement. Being a Christian & trying to support a Christian company, I would expect more than a pat on the head when I write a response.I've ordered the Chocolate One in 4 different locations. It has changed. One was so bad, I couldn't finish it. What has changed? Please read your responses or don't ask.Julie Dean Hickory, NC“
“Best true cup of coffee, latte I have ever had in Chapel Hill. Real Italian espresso machine operated by a master. Laid-back chill outside seating. Follow the herd to Starbucks for coffee so mediocre can only be consumed with sugar flavorings, or follow the true gourmands to Tin Cup Joe's.“
“I recently moved here and I'm SO GLAD there's caribou here. I worked at caribou in college and I really love their coffee. I always order pounds of coffee from their online shop, but having an actual location to get the fancy drinks is amazing. I wish I could remember the name of what I got, it was incredible (iced foamy caramel salt) ohhieee so good. 10/10Oh and the staff were so lovely“
“Good coffee, quick, nice space, nice staff, good wifi. My go-to Franklin St cafe. The drip coffee is quite good, and you get a refill for dine-in drip coffee, which is nice. I think they need to keep the coffee a few degrees hotter. The espresso drinks are good too. Everything comes out fast even when they're busy. The coffee is better and faster than at Epilogue.1922 is popular with students, so it's often hard to get a seat. So, meeting people here can be risky because you might not get a table. Generally easier to get a table at Epilogue. The breakfast burritos are excellent.“
“The food and service is great! They had several very delicious vegetarian options available. The owner was friendly and the food was ready quite fast.It was a nice place to set up and work on my laptop for awhile. There is free Wi-Fi available.“
“The donuts are so good and they have so many different kinds there is something for everyone there(unless you don't like donuts).the people are usually super nice and always super helpful in helping us pick.and the place is great super clean and you can watch the donuts be made its perfect For a treat for the whole family.“
“Both the Gelato and the in house specialty drinks are always amazing. Staff is always welcoming, hospitable, and orders are moved quickly. While the inside seating is minimal, the atmosphere is comfortable, the outdoor seating is a perfect option! We have always had a great experience!“
“My favorite boba place in Durham! They have multiple milk options if you're vegan/dairy-free. I've taken multiple friends there, including people who are weirded out by boba, and they can still get something they like (hot chocolate, normal tea, etc). Cute seating area by the big window plus more quiet spots in the back.“
“TL;DR I love the hot lattes, delicious food, and fast, friendly service. Only downside is it's always full & hard to find a seat. There are a lot of things I love about this place: their hot lattes are consistently piping hot, often with beautiful latte art. The staff is friendly, and the service is WAYYY faster than other coffee shops. I've rarely waited more than 5 minutes for my latte, even after waiting in line to order. The breakfast sandwiches and pastries are also delicious and served piping hot (bear in mind the food items come from another location that has a kitchen). My only gripe with this place is that it's always so full that it's often hard to find a table. This really is my favorite little cafe, so it's actually kinda frustrating that it's so hard to find a seat - otherwise, I would literally be there EVERY day enjoying a hot latte "for here" (and that says a lot considering I'm on a graduate student budget). I tried for a week straight to go there in the morning and study, but each time was unable to find a seat. It seems like a lot of the tables are occupied by regulars who seem to be a tight-knit group. Don't get me wrong - I love to see the community coming together, but it does mean there's not always enough space for new comers. If your loyal customers are always packing out your café, then perhaps it's time to consider adding a few more tables or adjusting the layout so more people can gather. Hopefully, this issue will resolve itself once the weather warms up and people can use the outdoor tables. My advice: get there before 8am on a weekday, or your dreams of grabbing a table to study and peacefully sip a latte are toast.Vegetarian options: Free macadamia/oat milk, vegan & vegetarian breakfast sandwiches & pre-made food“
“Tl;dr: This is the spot for familiar boba, and asian food/snacks. Looked up a boba and snack shop in the CH area and this was the most popular option. Went in and ordered a slushy boba and Taiwanese popcorn chicken. The lychee slushy boba was very flavorful. If you have ever eaten lychee jellies (my fav was freezing them first), then this is a drinkable version of that. Sweet, fruity, and cold. The boba were standard, but I wasn't looking for any more sweetness in the boba since the slushy was already sweet. The Taiwanese popcorn chicken was my favorite. Peppery and salty, juicy and crunchy. Definitely try it!“
“Update (1/4/24 6pm!): Manager replied not more than 2 hours later saying he would refund and check their cold brew. Updating the review to 5 stars for the spectacular management! I will definitely give this coffee shop another try1/4/24 5pm: Man did I want to love this coffee shop! I’m new to the area and have always loved the flavor of local coffee shops over a Starbucks coffee. Especially nowadays. I ordered the oatmeal cream pie cold brew. Despite my cold brew being over filled to the point coffee was all over the lid (before the straw was even put in) there wasn’t much flavor! Also i wasn’t a huge fan of the cold brew- the coffee tasted like it was burnt. I’m not a huge fan of sweet drinks but this drink just tasted like cold brew. I was looking for at least some sweetness.By the way.. I had a baby on my waist.. which the barista acknowledged.. overfilling my drink made me spill coffee all down the middle of my shirt + got all in the charger port of my phone. I don’t know what karma i did to deserve that but man did that barista serve me it. Anyways I’m off to find another small business coffee place now :,)“
“Really cool local coffee spot in Durham. This place was packed when we went which is a good sign. They have a decent amount of indoor seating and some places to sit outside as well. The coffee was decent however the cheese biscuit breakfast sandwich we got was outstanding. This I feel overshadowed our drinks. The servers are friendly and ambiance is what you'd expect from a coffee establishment. I'd come back to this place.“
“The chicken rice balls/onagari are soooo good. My daughters are obsessed with the onagari and tea. But I’m obsessed with the onagari too so sometimes I sneak and get some by myself and eat it in my car. Definitely worth it ?Kid-friendliness: They staff treat kids with all ages with the same customer service they do an adult. My 10 year old can go in and order by herself and come out feeling delighted and treated well.“
“Great spot for grad students to grab a quick sip before class. I really love the vegan food items - they don't heat them up for you, but there is a microwave in the cafe for you to do that yourself. My favorite part is that that they don't charge extra for alternative milks!! Seating is sparse since it's a small cafe, but I like to grab my coffee and find a spot in the health sciences library to enjoy my cup.“
“I didn't buy anything, I was not a customer. This Starbucks gets 5 stars in my book for other reasons. My car's alternator seized and I needed a tow at midnight. I sat at this Starbucks waiting for my Lyft home and they still were playing music even after business hours. This kept the vibes TIGHT in a time of misfortune. I will probably get a coffee here sometime too.“
“Busy. It's small and not a good place if you want to sit and enjoy your beverage. Some seating outside the door, but not much and almost always taken. Staff were handling everything well. drinks were good. Glad my tea did not taste like someone else's drink.“
“This location is sometimes a bit slow but they are so friendly! This time someone came to my car to place my order so maybe they were having some technical difficulties inside? I'm not really sure but the line moved quickly after that and my iced latte was delicious. I recommend the bacon Gouda egg sandwich and the iced cinnamon dolce latte.“
“Nice strong' ☕️ in a real ceramic cup. Great library lgbtqi++, people of color, etc. Educational materials to help teach children about white oppression. Me being an old Caucasian male, got the eye from the occupants. Still I escaped with no resistance ;).Parking: Parking is difficult anywhere in Chapel Hill. Electric scooters preferred,,.“
“I used the Honeysuckle Tea House to host a bridal shower for my sister and was beyond impressed! Justin and his team were so kind and took care of set up and break down. The food was fresh and delicious with incorporated heirloom ingredients grown on the property. Staff made planning and booking the event so easy with everything done virtually and over the phone. Don’t miss out on using this beautiful event space for your next event!“
“Overall this Starbucks is fine, but improvements could be added.-Five star great quality costumer service.-Quick workers-Workers strive to make going to this Starbucks a good experience-Adds too much ice to the drink, when asked for light ice-Long lines due to being understaffedOverall this place has some cons, but overall decent.Kid-friendliness: Workers seem to be kind to childrenParking: Limited parkingWheelchair accessibility: There is no stairs in this location“
“This is a nice place to relax for a cup of coffee. Didn't eat there but I was surprised by the many menu options. We went on a Sunday afternoon noon and it was pretty crowded inside but plenty of seating outside. They had a live bluegrass jam going on outside.“
