Blue Moon is the ABSOLUTE BEST!!!!!!! We use Blue Moon for all our employee and family member birthday cakes. They set the bar high and maintain their position when it comes to cakes and sweet treats. Also the Worlds Best Pimento Cheese. I wish I could give them 10 Stars. Go check them out!!!!

I reached out to Blue Moon Bakery via their Contact Us page and got a quick email in response to my inquiry. Not only did they accommodate my request for a dairy free, gluten free birthday cake, but they went above and beyond by offering me different options, and then adding the icing (we went with the raspberry by the way, and it was delicious!) in between the layers and even decorating the top. It was very pretty and tasted amazing. This was our first experience with this Bakery and we'll definitely be back. The items in the store front looked amazing too!

Generally a superb cake place! The presentation of the cakes is amazing! Most of their the flavors are exceptionally impressive. However, it seems to me a strange thing (mystifying), that a cake place this good, could make such terrible-tasting whipped cream. Odd. It tastes like foam-wrap. However, the cheesecake is astonishingly flavourful as is the vanilla coconut!

Once in a Blue Moon Bakery made our wedding cake for our December 2023 wedding at The Meadows and I'm so glad we chose them! Cake is my favorite dessert and our wedding cake was truly one of the best cakes I've ever had. The flavors of both cakes were incredibly good (we chose a chocolate cake with espresso buttercream and a yellow cake with raspberry and cream cheese frosting) and they were both so fresh and moist. I was very sad to finally finish the leftovers afterward! My husband actually doesn't even really like cake, but even he also thought it was great! We both grew up in Cary, so choosing and supporting a local bakery for our wedding was extra special, too.Lily and Leanna were great to work with during the planning process and were very organized and responsive. Their tasting is well set up so that you get to try all of their cakes, mousses, and frostings to see what your favorites are and what you think pairs best. They were flexible in letting us choose different combinations of flavors and textures that best suited our taste and even had a flavor and design meeting with us. The taste of the cake was the most important thing to me rather than having a huge, ornate wedding cake, but our cake was both beautiful and delicious!Huge thank you to Once in a Blue Moon for our perfect wedding cake!

For my wedding cake, Once in a Blue Moon was so easy to work, had a very clear pricing structure, and of course, the most delicious cake ever. We loved the at-home cake tasting because it allowed us to try all sorts of combinations and also to do it over several days to avoid the dreaded sugar tummy ache (this was a bigger issue when doing cake tastings than I had anticipated!). The fact that I got my dream cake (tiramisu) was just a bonus. Delivery on the day of was seamless.

I stopped by and tried their gigantic cinnamon bun and a couple slices of their cakes and breads.The cinnamon bun was really gigantic (almost the size of a regular bagel). It was a little stale. The crust was a little dry. Frosting a little too sweet.The cakes were quite good though! The basic golden cake slice was moist and dense. The frosting, again, is a little to sweet.They also sell quick breads, all of which are sweet, such as banana walnut bread and pumpkin apple bread. I tried the cranberry almond bread. It was nutty, moist, and yummy!Would be interesting if they start making non-sweet items!(2012)

Always a wonderful experience. I will travel hours to get here because I haven't found another bakery that makes the quality and variety that I like. Plus, the had extra cakes on hand and were able to decorate right then for me. This is the only place my brother wants me to go to pickup his birthday cake.
Cakes are good but not great. Somewhat assembly-line in feeling and production. Interesting flavors though. I had ordered a brownie assortment for a party and they were terrible. Now I'm wondering if the Bakery got them from BJ's or Costco. They were that mediocre. Definitely not homemade.
