Food was YUMMY! Fries with ranch can't be beat. I also get a side of sour cream. Had the brunch sausage croissant this time - SO GOOD! Looking forward to going next time I am in town!

I have been coming here since 1971. This is a great restaurant with tasty and well-prepared food, but I am only giving it four stars instead of five because I had to wait five years for the restaurant to finally open. I just knew it would, but still, that was a long wait.

Been going to Linda’s for over 30 years. Today was the first day it truly jumped the shark, and all because of a waitress barking at people and telling people “if they think I am yelling at them they can get the F out”. You should not allow this kind of behavior.PS Thanks for the reply Chris. This was a young dark haired lady, was told by one of your staff she was only 17. When we walked in she barked at us and said “downstairs is open”. Of course we obliged and went downstairs. No luck. All tables full. Came back upstairs and walked in for her to bark “stand anywhere except there”. Then I was standing by the mirrors in no one’s way, she said “can I help you with something are you waiting on someone”. I said “firstly I am not in your way, secondly, I am waiting for a table to open, thirdly I don’t appreciate you barking at my family”. She then turned to the manager and said “this guy is mad because I asked his family to stand somewhere else”. I said “you didn’t ask, you barked at us”. Then we went downstairs, and found a table, only to be told by her “you have to order upstairs”. Went upstairs to be told “you have to order downstairs”. Anyway, I’ve been in the corporate world for a long time, I can promise you that would have been her last day at work if I saw her running around talking to customers like this. Not to mention, she was behind the bar at 17. Which I’m pretty sure you don’t want to have ALE know that. Again, I knew Linda and have been going there for decades. Keep up with that, and it will be the beginning of the end for Linda’s. Which would be a shame.

Downbar is a fun place! Can get very busy on trivia nights and UNC game days but the vibes are great! The Carolina collins is my favorite beverage! Food is pretty good quality for a dive bar - and some items can be modified to be vegan including the sprouts and black bean burger!Vegetarian options: There are a few vegetarian options on the menu!Dietary restrictions: Plenty of vegetarian options and modifications to be veganParking: There is very limited street parking on this block and there are paid parking lots 1-3 blocks awayKid-friendliness: Not a kid friendly placeWheelchair accessibility: Downbar is only accessible by stairs unfortunately

I have been to this establishment every trip down for a doctor's appointment. Upon heading home, the server/bartender named Kiersten overheard me from the table about chicken noodles soup to try to find on the way out since I had gotten bad health news yesterday and was trying to collect myself. Little did I know, upon returning from the table to my surprise she had packed two chicken noodles soups for our drive back 3 hours home for me, and was so kind to drop it off with the bill. She gave me hope in civilization that I had so little of these days. I had to let everyone know how incredibly helpful and thoughtful she was, and that one act of kindness made my entire month. I'll always be back, and she made that the easiest decision I've had to make. Food was excellent and they always make you feel like you are at home. 5/5 recommend. If you have the chance meeting Kiersten, you won't be disappointed!

If you consider yourself a cool person then this is the spot. Plus sour monkey on draft I mean come on! As I write this I smell the wings at the table beside me and I gotta go order them. (Plus the owner is so dope & really kind)

A hot place for undergrad and grad students to visit. They let us throw a big Bollywood part with a minimum order. We doubled that due to our great turnout. It’s more congested than other bars but the people are great and the food serves its purpose.Check out trivia night and watch a little TikTok before you do ;).
