“I celebrated my birthday at Carolinas oyster bar last night. The hostess advised a table for two wait time was about an hour. I said okay, she responded back do you want to be added to the wait list? I said okay. She said she didn’t know if I wanted to wait! As we waited we had drinks at the bar, the bartender made a strawberry lemon drop, the best! Calamari and oysters for appetizers. I also ordered a lobster and shrimp roll! It was so delicious second bite I had three pieces of a lobster shell! Anthony was our waiter, I called him over he was in shock and said let me get my manager. Manager came over, I showed him the three pieces of the shell. He said that’s a possibility when they take the lobster out of the shell. No apology was provided, no offer to compensate the experience I had. I didn’t request a manager the waiter thought his manager would resolve the matter. Even though the manager offered to get me something else. I was nervous to get another meal especially when I run a risk for this to happen again. He said happy birthday enjoy your night. The managers response lacked empathy, poor customer service, I don’t care you will not be the first or last customer that this will happen to. In the back of my mind I wondered if I was a different race besides black would his response be the same?! The food was a ten even though I wasn’t able to eat and enjoy the lobster roll.”

“Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Anju. We started with the seafood pancake which was actually more of a waffle. I prefer the traditional pancake but the waffle was good too. Next we split two entrees. We went with the bulgogi of course because it’s a classic. Also tried the spicy stir fried squid off the pop up menu. Loved this surf and turf combination. The cheesecake was the perfect ending. Great service too!”

“On Friday 8/23, we came to The Crunkleton on a recommendation for my daughter’s birthday and we were NOT disappointed! From the moment we walked in the atmosphere and the staff were wonderful! We had Cole as our server and regardless of how busy it was that night, he made us feel like we were his only priority. He was very knowledgeable about your massive spirit selections and I mean massive! The food was fantastic and cooked to perfection. We got the Really Good Burger and let me tell you, we said medium and it was on point! It was very well seasoned which is rare when you go out to restaurants. Then to top off the night, my daughter got the beignets with the cold brew icing, WOW! I am a sweets person and these with that icing just WOW! Cole even put a candle on the rim of the dish because it was her birthday! So, you have our business any time we are in Charlotte! I just can’t say enough about our experience!!! You have a great place, amazing food, a wonderful spirits collection, and definitely not last or least a fantastic server in Cole!! Thank you for making my daughter’ s birthday and my first time in Charlotte such a great memory!!!”

“the pistachio baklava latte was so good. TK is everything you could want in a proprietor ( friendly! helpful! generous!) I found this beloved neighborhood coffeehouse by looking online. I wanted somewhere I would feel comfortable lounging ( comfortable chairs and various rooms/spaces, warm, good zibe) and working. I was not looking for a sleek sterile coffeehouse. I loved it that people can draw or write on the walls and that even though this was done with sharpies, I didn't see any evidence of ill will or critiquing if others. I was offered a sharpie myself not long after I arrived. what a great place! I'll be back whenever I pass through Charlotte. did I mention that the pistachio baklava latte was delicious? real pistachios! just right sweetness.”

My only disappointed was the limited amount of sauce or flavor. I could tell if it was due to the amount or lack of flavor. Either way, it was a good take on a pie.”

We had great service from our server Noah, who was very quick to take our drink order and provided attentive service for our entire dinner. We both ordered a Chimichangas (my wife had the chicken and I had the beef). Both were delicious, well seasoned and served hot. (fwiw) noted the staff were sweeping and cleaning the restaurant tables quickly, after a table turned.”

“My second time at The Capital Grille was just as good as my first experience. We started our dinner with the Prosciutto-Wrapped Mozzarella with Vine Ripe Tomatoes and the Pan-Fried Calamari with Hot Cherry Peppers. I absolutely devoured the Calamari and the addition of the hot pepper was something I didn’t realize any of my previous calamari experiences were missing until now. For my entree I enjoyed the Seared Sea Scallops with Maine Lobster and Asparagus Risotto. It was great and creamy but I regretted not getting a steak. We finished out meal with the The Capital Grille Cheesecake and the Classic Crème Brûlée. Both were divine and easily the best cheesecake and crème brûlée that I’ve had. The crust on the cheesecake was absolutely fantastic and the crème brûlée had an excellent crust with a heavenly vanilla flavor. My favorite parts of the meal were the starters and the dessert. I’d absolutely recommend this restaurant for a special occasion.”

My husband and I decided to stop into the Punch Room for a cocktail and appetizer. The host at the front door was inviting, friendly and welcoming. Kel our mixologist was incredible. He greeted us with a delicious punch sample for me and a mock-tail for my husband! We ordered a charcuterie and fois gras and they were both perfection. For the first time in 10+ years I didn’t feel like I was caught up in a get-in/get-out high dollar dining scheme- rather, it was an amazing immersive experience. If I thought I could pay double just to experience last night over again I would make multiple reservations to do so. “My second time at The Capital Grille was just as good as my first experience. We started our dinner with the Prosciutto-Wrapped Mozzarella with Vine Ripe Tomatoes and the Pan-Fried Calamari with Hot Cherry Peppers. I absolutely devoured the Calamari and the addition of the hot pepper was something I didn’t realize any of my previous calamari experiences were missing until now. For my entree I enjoyed the Seared Sea Scallops with Maine Lobster and Asparagus Risotto. It was great and creamy but I regretted not getting a steak. We finished out meal with the The Capital Grille Cheesecake and the Classic Crème Brûlée. Both were divine and easily the best cheesecake and crème brûlée that I’ve had. The crust on the cheesecake was absolutely fantastic and the crème brûlée had an excellent crust with a heavenly vanilla flavor. My favorite parts of the meal were the starters and the dessert. I’d absolutely recommend this restaurant for a special occasion.”

Exotica had an impressive spread of food that was well displayed esthetically and from a food quality and safely standpoint. I’m a kitchen manager and caterer so that stands out and matters to me. They had the longest of a lot of long lines which told me it should be good. I was right. It was top notch. They far exceeded my expectations for the event. I didn’t know what most of the menu was so I looked everything up while I waited and made a list on my hand. My favorites of what I chose were the Samosa Chat, Onion Samosa and the Madurai Malli Dosa. Everything was amazing though. Sooo many flavors!! I’ll definitely be going to their restaurant the next time I’m near Charlotte. 10000% Now that I look at the full menu I see so much more that I need to try.
