This is one of favorite sandwich shops in Uptown Charlotte and the one I miss the most since retiring. Their chicken salad sandwich is the best and the staff is even better. Glad they made it through Covid and hope to visit more often going forward.

Pretty meh. Chicken philly was basically a sub sandwich with how much fresh produce was piled on. Danish was disappointing.

Working in Wells Fargo Two, this was my first visit to Halfpenny's.Although conveniently located, I wasn't as impressed as others.Yes, the staff was so nice, but the sandwich was pretty basic and the soda machine only offers three sodas, all caffeinated.I ordered a Smoked Turkey sandwich with Swiss cheese, lettuce & onions, a cup of chicken noodle soup and a drink.Again, sandwich was basic, soup tasted out of a can, and I had to select water after paying for a drink since they didn't offer a non caffeinated soda, Sprite, etc.

Stayed overnight in uptown Charlotte and had breakfast here. This is a small mom/pop type cafe in the lower level of the Wells Fargo building. They have breakfast sandwiches, omelets, coffee etc. Our breakfast was prepared fresh and staff were so nice. Everything about it was great. Will go back when in the area again. Highly recommend.

Halfpenny's is a neat little café/deli located on the lower level of the Wells Fargo Center building. They have a variety of options to choose from for breakfast or lunch items. They also have dessert options as well. Likely, many employees that work in uptown businesses have visited Halfpenny's and it was a hit. I got a Reuben sandwich from them and it was pretty good.From the Wells Fargo Center entrances, take the escalator downstairs and you will find this location. You will also find that there are also other businesses downstairs as well so much as a post office location, laundry/cleaners, retail stores and other establishments as well. So it's a very convenient location for a lot of the items that you need. Definitely try them out if you are in the uptown area!

Wonderful little place. We stopped in for a nice breakfast. We had breakfast croissant sandwiches, grits with cheese and some delicious coffee. The lady at the counter was super attentive. Seating is nicely spaced out for social distancing.
