Lived this place! Loved the ambiance as well. Our server was amazing!I went for dessert but ended up ordering an appetizer plus dessert.I ordered the Charred Octopus with smashed potatoes. I did like it. However, it lacked seasoning. I added salt but it needed more than salt. It needed flavor.I ordered the donut ? and the cheese ? cake ?, cheesecake. They were both amazing!! The cheesecake was raspberry flavored and nice and creamy. The donut ? was very fresh. I loved the custard and toffee crumbles on top.Overall, it was a great experience ??! I will get back!!Vegetarian options: Salads are there.Dietary restrictions: Not too may restrictions.Parking: There is paid street and garage parking.Kid-friendliness: Yes. It is kid-friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: There is wheelchair access.

Nice restaurant inside the downtown Marriott. For those who need to eat gluten-free, quite a few options and the server we had was very knowledgeable. Open air concept next to a rather large bar. Food is sourced directly from local farms. Foid portions and quality very good and extremely convenient if going to an event at the Spectrum Center. Our server ended up being monopolized by another patron -- lots of chatter about personal history -- to the point that there was an extreme drop off in service to our table - drinks went dry, dirty dishes not removed,a very long wait to get our check. We would go back, but hope the service is better.Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free options and knowledgeable staff

Enjoyed this restaurant a couple times during our stay at the Marriott, which is where the restaurant is located. We had an outstanding hamburger (lunch) one day and a terrific dessert during after dinner drinks with friends on another night. We were only there a couple days on business, so unfortunately did not have time to make reservations for a full dinner. Anyway, both times the service was great, the food was terrific, the drinks were satisfying, not gimmicky. I have no doubt that if we had had time to go in for a date night and enjoy a full course meal that all the items in the menu would have been just as good as the two we sampled. And believe me, I'm extremely picky. Lol. I would say the ambience is just OK. Because the restaurant is very open to the main lobby of the hotel, it doesn't give off that "evening out" kind of vibe that you might rather have for a date night. But like I said, the menu was very attractive, and the other people that we dinned with also enjoyed their meals. We're from California, so we do get to experience a lot of different cuisines, but one thing I noticed while we were looking for different restaurants in Charlotte was that there is a lot of "southern food" on almost every menu, which, of course, is no surprise. The thing I liked about the Stoke menu was that it incorporated southern touches, but didn't rely too heavily on the typical collard greens, grits, pimiento cheese, catfish, etc. I would definitely return if we are ever back in Charlotte!!

We decided to have a pre-anniversary date night at Stoke in Charlotte while in town for a friend's wedding. Atmosphere and service were great, our server Maria was adorable and full of energy. We had mixed feelings on the food. Pork shank, pretzel bread and Mac and cheese were fantastic. Didn't care for the Shrimp and Grits or Brussels. They could have used more flavor / love. Overall a great spot for a date night when in Charlotte. Hotel is really pretty too! Warning: pork shank is VERY filling! Both myself and my husband ate from it and still had meat left!

We have been to Stoke many times. On this visit we were disappointed in the menu options and overall taste of our food. Favors were overwhelming with sauces so much so you couldn't taste the item you chose. Sad to say be probably won't be back after this.

I ordered the shrimp and grits. I was completely satisfied with my meal. I sat and ate at the bar for quicker service. Everyone was polite in how I was treated.

Went to Stokes for a Valentine’s Day dinner. We attended the Saturday before Valentine’s Day. We didn’t realize this restaurant is within the hotel and not its own standalone. We made reservations and actually got in an hour before we had scheduled to come in. The dress code for the place is just business casual. It makes itself out for a very fancy place but yet the waiters are all wearing jeans which threw us off. We chose off of a valentines special menu. It gave us a three course meal with an appetizer, entree, and a dessert. When we ordered our drinks they were unsure if they had the wine I ordered which was a search for them to find. They did eventually find the wine. The food was mediocre. The rice was overdone in my dish. The other entre wasn’t described as a pasta but yet it was, it didn’t seemed very seasoned. The desserts and appetizers were great with no issues with taste or presentation. We were served quickly, open kitchen so you can see your food being cooked which is nice. We were checked up on consistently and everyone was friendly. Overall for the price of the food it does not match. I wouldn’t consider this a place for a date night unless you just have money to throw away.Parking: There is no available parking. This is located in a hotel. You must find available parallel parking on the street which has restrictions for times and days. You can also pay in a parking garage as well.

The food was bland and the service was mediocre. Not sure how this restaurant was considered a 5 star restaurant. I did not finish all of my food. After we left, we went to another restaurant for dessert.

We are adding Stoke to our list of uptown restaurants! Great food, great service and reasonably priced, all in a great location. The staff were great and the open kitchen is nice, we even thanked the chefs on the way out. Would definitely recommend this place.
