As many times as I’ve passed by this street I never knew this place was here. I had the southern bbq wrap which comes on a sun dried tomato tortilla. I was a little skeptical because of the tortilla but it was actually really good and a pretty decent size at that the apples weren’t bad either.They have a lot of options on their menu that would make you wanna try them all.

Roasting Company is an old standard that’s dependable, always worth the trip, and uniquely special. If it’s the Jaco chicken and rice or the pasta salad, there’s no other restaurant that has these options or menu choices. Sure it’s not fancy or expensive but that’s the charm and allure of the place. If there was a “ Cheers “ in Charlotte, Roasting Company would fill that role with food. I’ve been coming here since I arrived in Charlotte single and poor. Now I bring my grown children, who have once again made me single (divorced) and poor. Notwithstanding I always feel comfortable and at peace at the Roasting Company.

A vegetarian friend to lunch there today and even though its chicken restaurant, they have more than adequate vegetarian options. Great chicken, great vegetables. I was extremely disappointed on the size of the 3 vegetable plate that I got as takeout. I hadn't been to the Roasting Company lately, but portions had never been this small. I ordered the collard greens, mashed sweet potatoes and smoke cheese pasta salad. The pasta salad and sweet potatoes were good but the collards were tasteless. They were put in the smallest plastic container that was then out in the white takeout container with dividers. The last time I got takeout, the food was put in the dividers in the takeout container. I will not be ordering this again. I got way little food for the price that was paid.
The food was delicious!! We will be back for sure!!The only suggestion I have is to update the dining area. It is somewhat outdated and wasn't very tidy/clean. Dirty dishes remained on the tables for a while after people finished eating.

1st and last time visiting here. As you can tell the chicken was burnt and had no taste of being smoked or roasted. It was dry and lacked flavor. The squash casserole was sweet, and thr collards taste like they came straight out the can. I was very disappointed ?. I often wonder how some places are in business ?. Maybe there is a difference in roasted and Barbecue flavor. I believe I found the difference. I ended up throwing the whole plate in the trash. I wish I could have received my money back. I will say the cornbread muffin, even it was old and chewy had a little flavor. Very sad night.
Great place have been plenty of times. Service is quick and they have specials on certain days. Portions are filling and the food is all great. The tico sauce is also a favorite of mine. Reminds me of Costa Rica for sure. I will always be back

So very disappointed with the food I got. Mac and cheese was old and weird tasting the chicken con queso had little to no queso. Chicken was almost flavorless. Beans were ok. I SWEAR this place used to taste so much better. Seems like they are cutting cost with ingredients or the recipes. For the money you’d expect flavor. Won’t be coming back anytime soon.
