Ok location near The Concord Mills Mall. Plenty of shopping & restaurants within miles, but the hotel really needs updating. The staff was very nice & friendly. My room was on the 2nd floor. The mattress wasn't what I was used to at a Courtyard hotel, but it wasn't the worse either. You can also tell the carpet needed to be refreshed. But, the biggest problem I had was the HVAC system. It never stopped running, even when I turned it completely off, which made it difficult to sleep. Other than that, it wasn't anything major where I would say that I wouldn't stay here again.

My husband stayed in Marriott properties for 85 nights last year. To say we are loyal is an under statement. We were traveling to Williamsburg and DC from Auburn, AL and Concord was a perfect stopping point. We checked in and I got to the room. The window covering was missing a panel. We were facing the parking lot and could not completely cover the window. I called to the front desk and asked for someone to come fix it. I was told they didn't have anyone to do that. I said ok, can you move us to another room. They said fine. I went up and checked the new room before we brought 9 days of luggage for 4 people up. The AC would not turn on. I went back downstairs and said the air wouldn't work and to put us back in the original room and we expected it to be comped because we were now about 45 minutes into this goat rodeo and still were going to be in a room where people could see in. No one apologized, no one acted interested, no one offered to help in any way other than to say those rooms were our only choices and they could give us $50 off. We asked to speak to the GM. She had to walk from an adjacent property. She got there and again no apology, we were told we could move next door at 10pm in the pouring rain or if comping the room would make us happy she would do that. We said fine. We get upstairs and completely settled. The phone rings and someone begins yelling that they had video and the window was covered and the AC in the other room works. I asked who I was speaking with. They would not identify themselves and continued to yell that we had lied to get a free room. I asked her to come look at what we were talking about and she refused. I asked again who I was speaking with and they finally said the manager. I asked if it was the GM or the front desk manager and they said "the manager". I finally asked if I was speaking to the Caucasian lady or the African American Lady. She then said she knew this was about race and that she would not comp the room for a racist. My husband goes to the lobby to try and figure out what in the world was going on. The person who had called me a liar and a racist was the Caucasian GM and she had called the police. They told my husband if we stayed we would pay for the room. He said fine he would take it up with Marriott corporate. He returned to the room where we discovered we had 2 sets of towels for 4 people and the TV didn't work. Because the GM was so unreasonable we didn't even ask for more towels. My husband has traveled for work for 35 years and I have traveled for work for 25 years and have always been loyal to Marriott. This is by far the worst experience we have either encountered ever. I would not recommend this property to anyone for any reason.

We stayed here two nights while we were visiting Hendrick Motorsport and the NASCAR Hall of fame. It was a nice hotel, nice staff and a great location- especially for what we were there for and there was lot of dining in the area. If we were ever in the area again I would return.

Easy to get to, plenty of places nearby to eat, beautiful rooms, great water pressure. Check in is easy and staff is so pleasant! My only 2 negatives: (1)They have coolers and not refrigerators. Coolers don't stay cool. The only way to keep anything cold in the coolers is to leave the cabinet door open. The coolers only stay on for 2 hours. Seems really odd, but its workable. (2) Pillows are not great, but doable for a night or two. We love staying here and we come up quite often because we have family in the area. Highly recommend staying here!!

The hotel was really great! It was the staff, the front desk team and the sales team that made this so amazing. Brennan and the faithful team who helped support our event made it a success. We are so grateful!

I was really disapointed with this hotel. I expected my room (221) to be a lot nicer for the price we paid and cleaned to a high standard. After arriving in from and International flight I was very tired. But to my dismay the bed in our room did not appear to have clean sheets and looked as though it had only been pulled up not re-made for new guests. The fridge was turned off and the TV was placed at an angle, so it was hard to watch. I did complain to reception when we checked out in the morning. I was just to tired from travelling to try and get it sorted out when we arrived in the evening. My husband and I will not ever book this hotel again.

The staff at the front desk was very helpful. But to be in a Mariott hotel and to be told that there will be no cleaning of the room unless asked for, was unheard of. I stayed for 4 days, went on a trip, and came back for another 4-day seminar. The room I was given was made up, but the bed sheets were not changed, and you could see stains on them with a naked eye. I complained from 8 am until 4 pm before anyone did something about it. The excuse: "We don't have enough staff".

I travel quite a bit and this has got to be the most neglected hotel room I've ever stayed in. First, the bedroom wasn't as clean as I'd expect it to be. The phone wasn't working. When we picked up the handset there was electrical tape all over it, so someone knew it didn't work and tried to cover it up. Even after all that, i could let it be and say you get what you pay for. But the BATHROOM had not been touched since the inception of this hotel. The bathroom sink was the slowest drain I've ever encountered. The sink filled up every time we brushed our teeth, and had to wait 5 minutes before the next person could use it in order for the water to go drain. The shower rod was broken, causing the flimsy ineffective shower curtain to droop down to the middle, causing water to splash onto the floor from both ends of the shower. It's been like this for a while because there's mold on both ends of the shower and the tile is broken. Worst part, the shower did not drain all the water. There's a pocket i guess in the tub that doesn't seem to angle completely towards the drain, creating a puddle of STANDING WATER in the shower. Which means if someone takes a shower before you, like say a rowdy pre-teen playing in the dirt all day, you will be stepping into a puddle of their dirty run off from their shower. Our room was cleaned while we were away, and the puddle was gone when we came back, which means they found a way to push the water towards the drain, which means THEY KNEW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. It's been like that for a while. How do we know you ask?? The spot where the tub puddle is IS RUSTING, while the rest of the tub isn't. You should feel ashamed to subject families to that room, and as a result I'd rather sleep in my car rather than stay at that place again.

If Marriott is your choice, this is typical CY. I don't love that breakfast is not free - but I do love that there is a bar open til 10. Two great things about this place - it's about 60 seconds off of I85 - and there are plenty (plenty) of places to eat very close by. I had no problems described in some reviews - room was clean, no surprises. Didn't get my welcome gift : / which COULD have been "free" breakfast - not sure what was up with that, I'm not really a status-hound, but since there was no (free) water in the room, that would have been a nice touch.

Needs some maintenance. Screens ripped, room smelled of mildew, towels thin, outlets didn't work in BR area. Lots of restaurants nearby, but can't walk to them because there's no sidewalks. Disappointing; with the Marriott name, we didn't expect it to be rundown.
