I wasn't sure what to expect with this deli in the middle of the Gibson Mill, but I'm SO glad I tried them out.The Intimidator sandwich is amazing!! The bread is soft and fresh, and the boar's head meat is always the best.You HAVE to give this place a try, you will not be disappointed.
During my visits to The Depot at Gibson Mill, I always enjoyed the food at Ellie's Diner. The owners left the space and it was replaced by The Depot Deli run by the neighboring Cabarrus Brewery. The food isn't bad, but it is not as good as the previous occupant and a bit of a ripoff. Instead of offering a side with the sandwiches, they ask if you want the combo -- you aren't getting any bargain here. This place needs more employees. We waited 45 minutes for two sandwiches and the person before us waited 45 minutes for a hot dog. The sandwiches were good but made with special bread. They were small.
