Met one of her regular customers while I was there, was great to sit and chat with him for a few minutes. You will feel welcome,I promise. Oh yeah, and the hot dogs and chocolate cake were great.”

Don't be fooled by the unassuming exterior (formerly a gas station!), the friendly staff and delicious Turkish-American cuisine will have you wanting to return for more.The atmosphere at Mustafa's Place is undeniably casual. But what it lacks in formality, it makes up for in warmth. The mosaic-topped tables add a touch of charm, and the friendly conversation with the staff made us feel right at home.We opted for the lamb and chicken kebap platters, and both were excellent. The marinated meat was cooked to perfection, and the accompanying rice, Turkish salad, and even the fries were all fresh and flavorful. The portions were incredibly generous. We also tried the stuffed grape leaves and baklava, and both were delicious additions to our meal.The two men working at the restaurant, who I believe included Mustafa himself, were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They took the time to chat with us about their home country and made us feel like valued guests.Overall, Mustafa's Place is a hidden gem in Spencer. It offers delicious and authentic Turkish cuisine in a casual and welcoming atmosphere. The generous portions and friendly service make it a great value.”

“Every time I am in Salisbury within the time frame of them being open, I happly stand in that line and wait for my chance to order. They smile and greet you like they are happy you are there. Which is hard to come by now a days. The burgers and dogs are simple but perfection! Everything melts together, but it isn't falling out all over you while you eat. You order they put it in the bag and your off. Pro tip: walk around the corner to Bottle and Can get a beer and drink it while you wait in line. It's all in the social district.”

“Our family of four came into downtown Salisbury to attend the Nutcracker performance at Catawba College. We do not live locally so we didn't prepare for the demand on local restaurants that evening. Without reservations, we were unable to be seated at two other nearby restaurants. My husband walked into Carpe Vinum and despite having no reservations and a quick timeline (45 minutes) they were able to seat us at the bar. The bartender was very pleasant and accommodating. Through her service and the kitchen's quick response, we enjoyed a wonderful meal and never felt rushed. My daughters loved their espresso martini and aperol spritz. Between the four of us, we enjoyed a grilled wedge salad, a caesar salad, lobster bisque, sliders, tuna bites and fried shrimp. It was all wonderful! Thank you again for a great dinner and the hospitality. We will be back!”

“1st visit and caught off guard concerning the time it would take to make my hot Lavender Quartz coffee.I walked in and was 2nd in line with a couple of customers obviously waiting for their drinks to be prepared. I knew I would need to wait a bit. What I didn't know was that there were people in the other side of the coffee house that had put in orders and they were waiting for their drinks to be made too.I realized I did not have enough time to wait (you pay when you order) so I asked if I could come back to pick up my drink after my appt. which I did. :)They were slammed but when I checked back in to let them know I was back, I hot my coffee quickly. THANK YOU FOR A GREAT VISIT!”

“For small towns, Salisbury and Spencer are truly fortunate to have so many great, locally owned choices for dinner! For me, Pinocchio's is at the top of that list. This review is the sum of dozens of visits (we live in Salisbury). As background, I've lived all over the country, from FL to CA to VA, and I love good food! I've been to Italy many times, but I was on an aircraft carrier at the time, so I don't think that counts.The setting is an older building. Not a hole in the wall, more of a small, intimate and (to me) surprisingly cool setting. I would suggest reservations. The interior is a bit older. I think beauty sometimes requires imperfections, but I'm sure that's just me. Personally, I love the interior.Pinocchio's strives to use local ingredients as much as possible in new and interesting ways. Favorites stay on the menu while weekly specials showcase the chef's ingenuity and skill. Plating and presentation are always spot-on, as are the portions. Service is great without being intrusive. And the food never disappoints. I'm partial to the salmon, and would recommend it regardless of garnish-of-the-day. Desserts are always a delight. As to the wine selection, it looks impressive, but honestly I always get Prosecco, so I will let others critique the wine list.Two thumbs up!”

“Heard so much about this place so I decided to try it for lunch. Great choice. I got a sample of the chicken salad and it was just like homemade. Ordered some and had the pulled pork tray for lunch. Another great choice. The cashier was so friendly and nice and was patient as it was my first visit. I am definitely returning soon. Price was reasonable and money well spent. Hight recommend for some home cooking. Can’t wait to go back to try other menu items.”

“This is my go to Greek restaurant in town. We love the Lemon Chicken and Rice soup. We typically order it while we're there and place a to go order for the next day as well. They have really tasty gyros too! Their gyro meat isn't shaved like how you'd expect. Instead it cut much thicker and I've really grown to appreciate the flavors of the meat.”

“Went on a Friday night. They had a guy playing live music and an hour wait. The wait was worth it! The food was awesome. My table had the family diner with oysters, clams, corn shrimp, and crablegs as well as the shrimp and grits. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere was really chill. The wait staff was great! “Lovely cafe in downtown Salisbury. Went to get some stuff done, and it had a wonderful atmosphere, good service and plenty of places to sit for it’s size. Plenty of drink options, of which I ended up getting an iced chai with oat milk, and it was superb.Parking: Street parking located in front of the building, however being downtown it’s not hard to walk to if you park somewhere else.”

“This little DQ in Salisbury NC is perfect for a quick order and dash. Don't blink or you'll miss it. But that doesn't stop this little icream shop from having a great business. They have a great selection of flavors and can have it in a cup,cone, or milkshake so fast it'll make you think you're in a time-warp. The prices are pretty good too. Give them a try.”
