Great breakfast hideaway! One of our small town go to’s. Simple, easy breakfast with a great staff.

The food was great as always, the table service was great. However, we were a party of six and had to wait close to 20 minutes for the only table setting they apparently allow for a party over 4. There were more tables they could put together but apparently management disapproved of that action. Although I'm sure we'll be back, that's the kind of thing that sticks with you.

My husband and I wanted to try something different for breakfast one Saturday morning, so we ventured to The Egg in Davidson. When we arrived at 8:45am they weren't very crowded, but the restaurant filled up soon after. We had several servers visit our table shortly after arriving to take our drink and food orders. I had the Mixed Grill omelet, with ham, bacon, sausage, and American cheese. All of the meats were finely chopped and nicely crispy. And there was just the right amount of meat, too. There was one slice of cheese both inside and on top of the omelet, but I do wish there had been more--at least, enough to cover the entire surface of the omelet. For my sides, I chose the hash browns and sourdough toast. The hash browns were soft, not crispy, which I usually prefer. The sourdough toast was pre-buttered and toasted just right. My husband had their corned beef hash, which the menu states is made in house. The hash was nicely seasoned and not too salty. His over-medium eggs were cooked perfectly. His wheat toast and fried potatoes were good, but again, the potatoes weren't crispy. All of the servers were friendly and helpful, and our food was delivered quickly. The coffee was moderately strong. The overall cost was very reasonable, too. Overall, we enjoyed everything, and will definitely return!

A charming little breakfast and brunch place who has a wide selection of funny/cute mugs for their coffee. I've been here a couple of times and it hasn't disappointed so far, just a nice sit down for omelettes and such. A little busy on Sundays but they serve all day breakfast (on Sundays) there. Nothing really stellar in terms of quality, they use low quality ingredients but to the best of their abilities. The wait staff is exceptional and friendly.Parking: Small mall parking (80-100 spots)Kid-friendliness: Perfectly family friendly

Update: Feb 2024Popped in for a to-go order. I waited so long that I saw another waitress giving my waitress (who was very busy with her cellphone) signals to check on my food.Food looked good but my grits had pieces of tiny, flat, tan-colored dry squares that I had to keep spitting out so I trashed them.Toast was hard and looked like it might have been scraped.*sigh*Bacon and eggs were good.____________2023: Valentine's Day breakfast with a friend. Food was tasty. Service was great. Would recommend!Parking: Parking lot is shared by several businesses. The closest parking spaces are a bit narrow and can be hard to get most times of day. However it's a big enough lot so parking is usually available, even if it's not close to the door.

We used to love this place, the Southern omelette was my favorite. Since Covid, unfortunately, the quality of the food has gone way downhill for some reason. We have given it a few more chances over the last year, and each visit was disappointing. This last time was pretty bad, we are sad to say that we won’t return even though we live nearby and had been eating here for years. The entire restaurant also needs a thorough cleaning!

If you're looking to spend at least 2 hours for cold food; this is the place to be. Absolutely poor customer service. Watched our food sit for 15 minutes while other customers that ordered well after us got their food right as it came out to the window. Wonderful experience.

Reagan is running the entire restaurant today. She needs to be recognized for her hard work and poise taking party after party, while the other lady takes all the easy breezy two-tops.
