It’s obvious to see online that capital cakes makes gorgeous cakes. She was very responsive when trying to figure out the details of a cake I had made for my girlfriends birthday. It was very short notice and we didn’t get the details figured out until two days prior to the event. Thankfully there is an extremely forgiving late order fee, and my cake was able to be made in time thanks to Katelyn. I do not suggest waiting as long as I did, but I sure do recommend Capital Cake to anyone looking for a quality cake made in a timely manner! Thanks Katelyn

I can't say enough about Katelyn and her customer service! I contacted her super last minute after another baker cancelled on me the day before my son's party. Despite her busy schedule and already being completely booked, she took my order. Not only did the cake come out beautiful, it was delicious. The icing was so light and everybody was raving about how good and moist it was. Thank you again Katelyn for saving the day! We will definitely be back.

We ordered our wedding cake from Capital Cakes, and we were so thrilled with how it turned out! Katelyn was responsive and easy to work with, and we LOVED that we were table to pick up a tasting box of different flavors to try on our own time. We ended up going with a lemon cake with blueberry buttercream filling, and it was absolutely delicious! We've had multiple guests have reached out to tell us how much they loved it. Katelyn did an excellent job decorating our cake with a beautiful flower cascade. We're really looking forward to ordering another one of her cakes in the future.

Katelyn did an amazing job on my baby shower cake this past weekend! The cake tasted amazing and looked absolutely beautiful! Katelyn delivered the cake directly to the house, which was so helpful for my mom being from out of town. It took her less than 5 minutes to add fresh flowers to the cake, and it looked exactly like my inspiration photos! I can’t think you enough for being a part of my special day, Katelyn!

We were searching for a cake vendor for our October 2022 wedding and had set up tastings with three, including Capital Cakes. We had viewed the Capital Cakes Instagram page and we’re very impressed with what we saw. Katelyn’s “tasting box” offered a wide variety of cake and icing options but I liked that we had a consultation with her prior to final selections. She shared that she used Italian buttercream which was less sweet and a little lighter than American buttercream, a win for me as someone not particularly fond of most cake icing because it can be sickly sweet.We were looking for almond cake in particular, which Katelyn offered, and we saw that she also made carrot cake (a favorite of both mine and my husbands). She recommended we try her citrus buttercream with the carrot cake rather than a traditional cream cheese or vanilla icing, and gave a few other icing/filling recommendations for us to consider.We selected a round, semi naked cake for my husband I (carrot with citrus buttercream), and a mix of cupcakes for our guests: chocolate with mocha buttercream and almond with vanilla buttercream. People were literally looking for something to package them up and take them home haha!The cakes not only tasted amazing but were beautiful and matched the theme of our wedding and reception. Our initial cake vendor ended up having to back out as we had postponed our wedding 2 years due to COVID. Katelyn was super great saved us when it came time to find another cake vendor within like 3 months of the wedding date!! She was so helpful in our initial meeting about giving us numbers up front, giving us options and also helping with designs!! Cake tasting was super easy and also no-contact! When I saw the cake on our wedding day, I was blown away by how beautiful it was!!! Also equally important, every layer was DELICIOUS.
