9 Best Craft Breweries near Greensboro

Forgotten Road Ales GSO Brewery •
303K Pisgah Church Rd, Greensboro

“Wife and I were walking around this area at North Elm Village for the first time and we happen to bump into this amazing little brewery. What a fun spot! Cozy inside with a patio outside, great craft beers on tap with plenty of choices for non-beer drinkers as well. I had a hazy IPA which was crisp with plenty of taste. My wife had a cider since she’s not a beer drinker and was pleasantly surprised as well. They also have wine and liquor with plenty of choices.Events to bring the community together all week long, including trivia nights, live music, bourbon Thursdays, and even bring your pet nights. The staff was unbelievably friendly as well. We will definitely be frequenting this place often.“

Oden Brewing Company Brewery • $$
804 W Gate City Blvd, Greensboro

“I like to just come to Oden to chill out on a rocking chair and have several beers. The exterior space especially is hella awesome, and they've invested in a lot of fire pits and heaters for it so that the whole premises of the brewery can be utilized year round. Train tracks are to one side, and Gate City Boulevard is to the other. Not everyone thinks of roads and railways as things of beauty, but then again, they usually don't think of arteries and veins as articles of rapture either. They are though. Each headlight that passes by in the night is a luminescent corpuscle, and inside the cab of each car or the cabin of every train carriage is a package of energy called a human being. Every one of our lives, although they last for but an instant in the vast overpowering rush of nature, is a chance for the universe itself to revel in its own existence. I'm not sure if there's a God. Are my hemocytes sure if I exist? I've had several beers. Here be a good place to rock.“

Pig Pounder Brewery Brewery • $$
1107 Grecade St, Greensboro

“Definitely the cool local spot that has something for everyone! The art aesthetic and the shabby chic seating made it feel cozy, but the real reason you visit is for their amazing beers! The menu boasts everything from IPA to Kolsch. They even make their own labeled and bottle wines! (2 red and 1 white on the menu currently) It is a place to bring you dog, kids, friends, or even a date. So glad to have stumbled upon it.“

Steel Hands Brewing Brewery • $$
1918 W Gate City Blvd, Greensboro

“Steel Hands Brewery is the BEST! Great food and drinks but most important - great people! Our family recently held a fundraiser/ awareness event at the GAC called Plunge for Elodie in honor of our grandson Brooks. This Plunge raised money for research into finding a treatment/ cure for a rare disease called Epidermolysis Bullosa. About 40 people came to Steel Hands Brewery afterwards to enjoy delicious pizza. Royal and Thomas were great!! They featured a “Plunge Pilsner” and donated a dollar from every beer sale to our donation goal and put us OVER OUR GOAL!! Thank you!“

“What a great spot! The poke nachos were delicious and well balanced between fresh avocado, high quality tuna, and plenty of the other fixings. The fries were fresh and not at all over-battered. I had a special, the pesto chicken sandwich with arugula and prosciutto. Banger. Beer was great, too! Flight is the way to go. Great spot! ?“

Joymongers Brewing Co. Brewery • $$
576 N Eugene St, Greensboro

“Edit - Joymongers management went above and beyond and refunded me the entire amount. I used that to buy 4 random patrons their drink. I am very impressed with their professionalism and integrity. Excellent establishment and would highly recommend.Original post -On March 17, 2024, my wife and myself ordered a Brux IPA and a bourbon lemonade. The total was $17 incl tip. My credit card was charged $30. I raised a dispute with Chase and they credited the excess amount back to me. I am happy I got my money back, but a little annoyed that the establishment, Joy Mongers, gets to keep the money that was over charged by them. I called the establishment, but it goes to voice mail. Pretty sure they would say "dO yOu HaVe YoUr ReCeIpT..", which I don't, because who even keeps receipts anymore...Anyways, the establishment is nice, hold on to your receipts to avoid my situation.“

Little Brother Brewing Brewery • $$

“I hosted my department's holiday celebration at Little Brother Brewery's Little Saint Nick National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation pop up event. This bar is always laid back and welcoming. It was even more so for the holiday event. We brought in catering, and had a white elephant gift exchange. This was the perfect setting! The drinks were beautiful and delicious! Get tickets if you can!“

“A classy environment, a ratchet atmosphere, with the soul of the whole in the wall. Exactly what I have been looking for. The food is quality with an extensive drink menu. The staff was professional. Surprised that an establishment like this would be on this side of town. The major challenge is the limited parking. If you enjoy ratchet night clubs but have matured over the years and don`t want to risk going to one and getting shot in the face this is a wonderful alternative. This place does a good job maintaining a balance.“

“Natty Greenes has been one of my favorite spots for a good brew and bar food for a long time now. We stopped in one rainy Saturday night to grab some food and a couple beers with some family in town and it again did not disappoint. We had a fairly large party of about 10 and were seated relatively quickly which was great cause we were all ready for some food. I opted for the Natty Melt with fries this evening and was pretty good. Well seasoned burger with flavorful onions and dressing was perfect while washed down with a couple of pints of Guilford on tap. I do wish the burger fit the bread a little better as the edges on each side were essentially all bread with no burger, but still a dang good burger. If you're looking for good beer and some good food, look no further than Natty Greene's. The top floor also has a bar and additional seating if needed!“
