The food is not consistent from week to week. Not sure what you are getting and how you get it. The service is par. If the kids working would not stand and socialize with one another and check on their customers it would make the experience better. Out of the six servers/cashier working the noise was unacceptable. Management needs to look at the cameras and make some changes. If they have time to lean and talk they could be cleaning.

This place took me back to the diners I loved to eat at in Mt. Airy (the real Mayberry) of my childhood. The menu is simple and I enjoyed my two hotdogs and hot chips. My children enjoyed their super affordable chicken nuggets and mini corn dog meals! The best part of the meal was the ice cream sundaes that came with the kids meals. The ice cream was sooo good and it came with the wafer cookies in it. Honestly would go back just for an ice cream sundae! Also, our waitress was so attentive and kind!! We felt well taken care of. If you're looking for an old school diner type place with simple food with no fancy frills, this is your place!

Some people say in their reciew that this place is retro decorated. Not really. It is just stuck in time. It probably hasn't had a face-lift since it opened. The walls are decorated with pictures of pastimes, which is not a back thing.The food was okay. I had the hamburger with jalapeños and pepper jack cheese. Well, the cheese was white and had no evidence of peppers in it. I am guessing by the texture that it was white American, which is ? to me.They do have a nice selection of hard ice cream to choose from. The place is family friendly and I am sure that a lot of locals visit this place.

This place is Disgusting!!! And the owner is very rude. The cook’s do not use gloves, and the ice cream spoons are filthy.Dietary restrictions: The Owner of the store name is Rita Rankin. She is a mean nasty woman. She yells at her waitstaff who are mostly a bunch of high schoolers, i saw her kill a bug with a banana when she was preparing a banana split for a customer that was in the store.

This is one of my favorite places to eat in HP. Hot dogs, burgers, french fries, milkshakes, and onion rings are very good. I like waiting a couple of minutes for it to be made by them. I didn’t know they sold Ruben sandwiches, I hope it is as good as everything else they serve.

Had not visited since I was in high school. Now as a teacher, I'm thrilled to see this local business employ my students. The food is amazing & service is exceptional all with reasonable prices.

I went and got ice cream here and found a dead gnat or something in my ice cream, I went and got a different one and saw more dead ones in the ice cream freezer. Ice cream was just okay too.I loved the Mayberry's in Winston but I don't think I'll be coming back to this one.

Hello, i visited this Sunday around 3pm - i had an amazing waiter by the way! But anyway, I left a 10 dollar tip for my waiter ( two fives).As I was walking out i believe I saw a dishwasher stealing the tip… He looked to be very young. African American, maybe about 5’7 and looked about 15-16.I think this is very unacceptable behavior and you guys need to watch who you hire, Especially these teens. I really hope you see this because it is NOT ok. This unethical behavior from him does not respect the autonomy of the victim he is stealing from. Check your workers.Thank you.Erica Mendonza

I hate to leave bad reviews but ….. I refuse to eat there again. Ice cream taste old, wafers they put in the sundaes are stale, food is not great, burgers are greasy, bathrooms are nasty, and I saw a roach crawling up the wall at our booth!
