“Ate here for the first time. Love that there are lots of options in one place. Ate some excellent sushi, but plan to go back to try some of the other places. Plenty of tables, very clean, and despite there being lots of people it was not loud or too crowded.“

“This is a small restaurant. Food was good and service was friendly. Parking lot is small. I had to park next door. But overall a good experience. I had the Coop sandwich which is a chicken breast with barbecue sauce, bacon and melted cheddar. It was a little messy but that’s what happens with barbecue sauce. It was very tasty though.“

“Went in yesterday and a diner had her dog sitting with her in the chair as she ate at the bar. I was told the dog had a "certificate," which people can get for 99 cents online if they want to impose their "emotional support" dog on other people in restaurants. Restaurants and coffee shops need to follow NC code, which allows service dogs but not emotional support pets. I left and I doubt I will go back, but I will miss the onion rings and local atmosphere. It's a good place if you don't mind eating with dogs. But I'm done with this nonsense.“

“Alexandria and Alesha are amazing! I highly recommend catering an event at Bistro 1605. My daughter was graduating from HPU. I live in DC and we had approximately 30 family members coming to her graduation. They worked with me to organize a luncheon. The location, its size, and their flexibility allowed me to host a very memorable event. The pimento cheese and chips are to die for! The food was good and they let us in early to decorate the restaurant. I can't say enough about their professionalism and friendliness. The proximity to the school, available parking, and access to the TV and refrigerators made the planning of this event stress free. They also allowed us to bring in outside food and drinks. The family was very pleased. Would definitely eat here again and use their services.“

“The ambiance is spectacular. The place is home to this restaurant and a bed and breakfast. I'm not sure what the food was like previously but the new chef has done amazing things with this new menu. Everything we had was amazing. I'm in no way a vegetable guy but the broccolini was the almost the star of the meal for me! The mushroom ravioli is not pictured below but that's because we ate it so quickly, it was amazing. Really everything was and priced nicely for the quality. The service excited my expectations, the waitress even gave us a few facts about the building. The outdoor seating will be my hangout place for the spring and summer for sure.“

“This is one of my go-to places for lunch. This is just goooood NC BBQ. I typically go through the drive-thru, because I usually can zip through without waiting too long. The staff always has their warm Southern hospitality ready to take your order. Their menu isn't too overwhelming, it has your standard BBQ dishes/meals. There is a choice of ribs, chicken and even hot dogs. Boy, do I like their all the way hot dogs. They have a nice selection of sides. The BBQ plate has a lot of food. So come with an appetite. It has a nice helping of BBQ, loads of fries and hush puppies. They also have their tasty BBQ slaw. Their vinegar based slaw is Dee-li-cious. Don't forget to ask for a side of extra BBQ sauce. Now I like my fries softer with a little crunch. So their fries are so good to me. The savory BBQ is seasoned just right. Sprinkle a dab of their BBQ sauce on top and you have the right pairing. They have daily specials so checked those out before you order.“

“I've been sitting on writing this review for awhile, probably longer than I should, but I still remember the evening pretty well and recently came across the photos that I had yet to post, so here goes nothing! But that is kind of the point, a restaurant like Marisol should leave you anxious to go home and tell others about what a great eating experience you had. In my case, while the food overall was good, I wasn't taken aback by anything, and at this price point, I feel that I should have been. Things started off really well, the server was eager to explain the restaurant and menu, and stayed very attentive throughout. Honestly, for my taste, overly attentive. But it's not a big place, and also wasn't very busy, so it makes sense he would have stayed vigilant with us. After ordering drinks, we received a small starter of goat cheese on crostini with some bruschetta, a nice way to kick things off. Then, one of the highlights, the basket of incredible breads was presented to us. If he had left the basket at the table, we probably would have run through it all, but we did have a few pieces with butter, that were beyond excellent. The appetizer course was fantastic. Flash fried buttermilk shrimp, house made gravlax, tomato pie, cavatelli, and a duck special. The tomato pie, I honestly wish i could have ordered a larger slice for my entrée, because I could eat that every day. The gravlax was kind of like eating lox, and I dug the texture with the crispy bread and shmear. The shrimp were plump, but given the price, nothing about them set them apart from fried shrimp elsewhere. The duck.. I said earlier about the tomato pie, maybe just give me the duck and tomato pie for an entrée, I would have been happy. For my main, i got the blackened NC mountain trout, and like others at my table, this is where the meal started to fall flat. The trout just didn't set itself apart in any way, other than the fish being clearly fresh. The blackening didn't add much flavor, nor did the sauce that it came with. For this being the supposed centerpiece of our experience, it was disappointing. I found myself wishing I got the duck breast that someone else had. For dessert, we shared the vanilla bean creme brulee and the bread pudding. The crème brûlée was well executed, which is no ordinary feat, so big props for that. The bread pudding however was the total opposite. I have never really encountered dry bread pudding before, but this was it. Even though it was covered in chocolate sauce (would have just liked a dish of that) and ice cream, still somehow dry to the bone. I was surprised the waiter didn't ask about it, given it was barely touched by all of us, and he had been so attentive to everything else. In the end, for the money, I don't know that I would return. As I said earlier, at this price point, it kind of needs to be great from top to bottom. Some of it was, but the most important part was kind of pedestrian. I could definitely see myself coming back for drinks and apps though!“

“we stumbled across this place by accident. decided to give it a go. 1st time was breakfast, it def surpassed expectations. the food was plentiful (we ate on it twice). I felt the price was lower than one would think based on what we had and the quantity. service was both cheery and fast. our server looked to see if our drinks were at least half full with each pass and offering refills when we hit the half mark. the second time was dinner, we each got an entree with a "buffalo chicken" pizza to try it. her chicken salad was enormous (the size of a coffee saucer big) not actually able to fit on the croissant it was piled on to. my gyro was on par with the ones i remember from living up north (i could only eat half of it, btw, reheated to perfection). we each had a single slice of the pizza and loved it. the restaurant was very clean. staff stayed busy and attentive to their tables. the manager asked and wanted to know how our experience was, did we have any suggestions about how to improve.... told him to keep on just as they are.“

“My family and I had nothing but positive experiences here for our first visit. The inside is a bit shabby, but our food was delicious. The waitress was friendly and attentive and made sure we had refills. I got the Philly cheese steak omelet. It was very big and full of meat and cheese. The chopped sirloin and country fried steak was tender and piping hot. The mashed potatoes, pintos, and cabbage were flavorful and fresh. Can't forget the thick and crispy Texas toast! Good food and good service.“
