“Sat on the patio and had a wood fired margarita pizza with pepperoni and a glass of white wine. The atmosphere was high glass inside and out and the service was good. This is part of a complex of three restaurants, hotel and spa. We only had time for lunch but would like to have toured the rest. Highly recommended when you’re in Highlands, NC.“

Hummingbird Lounge Bar • $$$
455 Main St, Highlands

“Luke was our server at last night's delicious dining experience. He was seemingly playing host, runner and server so it did take time for our orders to be taken. We arrived shortly after 5 so had to enjoy appetizers and drinks for the hour until the kitchen opened at 6. Enjoyed probably the best homemade pecan pie I've ever had, with vanilla bean ice cream and a trout dip with crackers while we played cards with our daughter and sipped on tasty cocktails. Jason, the manager was welcoming and incredibly hospitable and took time to visit with several tables, making eye contact, engaging with patrons and making everyone feel at home. Stellar management because of the efficiency and running the front-of-house like a well oiled machine. Hummingbird lounge is a stellar setting complete with comfort, ambience and gives the feeling of a speakeasy and rustic upscale cabin. Comfy chairs and couches are strewn throughout with interesting artwork and artifacts as the fireplace crackled and the Christmas tree lights flickered. The food was topnotch and worth the high price tags ranging from $32-56 per entree. Luke was spread thin so we didn't see him as often as we would've liked, but the overall experience at Hummingbird lounge is decadent. Thank you Jason!“

“The 4118 Burger was good, Reuben Sandwich was good, but bread was grilled a bit too long, so it was dry and brittle. The charcuterie board was good as well as avocado salad. Great service. Patty Melt was good, too, but it's the same issue as Reuben with the bread.“

“We're in town from Philly for a wedding, and this place and staff were amazing! They embody what we've always heard about with southern hospitality. Kayla even went out of her way to indulge me on a very odd request to borrow one of the most amazing hats I've ever seen that will match perfectly with my suit that I'm wearing to a wedding this evening. Long story short aside from the amazing food a drinks here their hospitality was above and beyond, I'd recommend this place to anyone who comes to Highland NC. Oh almost forgot my wife loves quesadillas and she said there were hands down the best ones she's ever had. We even ordered some Togo to have after we get back from the wedding.“

“This place is the destination after you've reached your destination. Famished, after a long mountain hike, pop on in for an ice cold brew and a breakfast lunch and dinner burger! It's 3 meals in one and I didn't even get the fries. I got the John burger, which was collosal, burger patty topped with brisket, cheese, and onion rings! It's everything you want on a sandwich and then some more goodness! My wife got the steak quesadilla which was amazing and pretty sure made with homemade tortillas. We also got chips and guacamole. The chips were those really good fried chips and the guac was fresh and made with love! We got a side of Mac and cheese skillet for the kids topped with bacon. Everything was spot on deliciousness and I'd highly recommend it all. Wish I would've gotten a hat to rep! Great job! Keep up the great work!Kid-friendliness: A very chill place, with out door seating, plenty of TV's, and a fire place inside and fire pit outside.Wheelchair accessibility: Easily accessible, plenty of maneuverability, spacious.“

“The restaurant location is convenient with plenty of parking. The indoor and outdoor dining spaces are nothing spectacular but they're clean. The menu was a little eccentric but overall it was good. The service was also good but they could definitely use a little more help. Definitely try the truffle fries. We'd eat here again.“
