Pulled pork was phenomenal! Mac & cheese and cole slaw off the chart! Plate was so full I had a take-home plate. Parking was sparce so we parked a quick walk across the street to a cute church on Saturday. Great spot a-la-cart at the register. So many smoked options.

Brown Truck, Foothills, Wise Man, Oden, Joymongers, etc. Original post: I should come here more often, and I haven’t ordered most of the menu, but the thing that matters most, the BBQ (pork if that needs clarifying), is top-notch. If there’s a blind spot for the operators it’s the disappointing beer selection. That’s an easy fix though. Again, really good Q, nice and greasy, not sauced when they serve it, but they offer a fine homage to NC sauce traditions that you can add after the fact. 5 stars for sure. Get better beer please.

I went to Black Powder for the first time a few weeks ago and I had to go back today with a strong craving. The food is great, I have gotten the brisket sandwich twice now and it does not disappoint. The fries are absolutely legendary, I’d return just for the fries to be honest. Best fries from a bbq place hands down, their mac n cheese is great too. Their prices are on par for a bbq place as well. The only downside to the restaurant is the lack of parking. So you may have to park across the street and walk over.Parking: You may need to park across the street at another lot and walk across. The street isn’t too busy to be that worrisome though.

When the manager is there it is great. But if it is just the staff not so. Policies appear to differ based on the day. For instance, if one wants lean brisket, they will accomodate that if the manager is there, but if not then they will not.The right thing to do is follow what the customer wants, not be wishy washy.When I come in, if they will accomodate what I want to pay for, I will stay and it is great. If not, I will leave.

The food was delicious. Some of the best BBQ I've ever had. The highlight for me was the brisket and ribs. Everyone was very nice and patient with us for ordering the first time. Everything was freshly sliced to order.

I had the pulled pork sandwich which was great. I love their vinegar base sauce-I forget the name of it but it is so good. I also had the mac n cheese which was fantastic.Their pies are okay- Mainly cool whip filling-I have tried the cookies and cream and the peanut butter pie. I was hoping for more of a peanut butter filling in the pie.The banana pudding is also good

Having been all over Texas eating at some of the best around and not finding good Beef Brisket anywhere in North Carolina, I began smoking my own. Well, on our way home from Petty's Garage today, we stumbled across Black Powder Smokehouse and gave it a try.Brisket was fantastic, moist with a good smoke ring and tons of flavor. The Mac n Cheese is pretty damn good.Definitely recommend giving it a try.(Parking lot is small, had to park down the road).

Oh my goodness…. We went shopping for Furniture & were literally starving… SO VERY THANKFUL we found this place … we’ve been in NC for 7 Years … tried EVERYWHERE everyone said was great… um nooo…. Ya’ll have the BEST BBQ I’ve had in my ENTIRE LIFE … & we have lived all OVER the Country… can’t wait to visit this weekend… I HAVE to turn my boys onto this… we live in Winston & Love the drive …???❤️❤️❤️
