What a lucky find!! This pub is a great place to grab a meal, have a meeting, and enjoy the environment. The seating is spacious and the staff are very attentive. I had a plentiful meal for lunch and with all the selections, I’m sure I’ll be back to try other selections. There is indoor and outdoor seating and they are right in the heart of downtown Matthews so you can definitely make an afternoon of all that is close by. They have monthly specials so be sure to put this on your list!

This was our first time getting food here & certainly the last!. Overpriced & absolutely awful! My wife is British & had been craving sheperd's pie & sausage rolls; even though this is supposed to be "Irish" fare it's usually pretty close-not in this case. The sausage bites were cold, undercooked & extremely dry. The pastry was very soggy. We also put them in the oven, however they were still inedible. Disappointingly, the shepherd's pie was bland & greasy. The potatoes weren't even crispy on the top-maybe that is not unusual in Ireland, however we have both had shepherds & cottage pie in Irish pubs & the potatoes have always been crispy. I got a raspberry cheesecake for dessert that looked a lot better than it tasted. The way all the food was handled was just a mess. No care put into it at all. The portion sizes for the price were a rip off! We've just moved so I can't wait for the kitchen to be organized to have a home cooked meal. Since the pandemic, restaurants have really been lax; not only with the food, but the customer service & price gouging continues! A total waste of $80 & no dinner! If I get a response from this restaurant offering me to contact them just to get a lousy percentage off our next meal, I say don't bother wasting my time....

I was super pumped to dine at this place! I drove half an hour here right after work, and when I walked in, everyone just gave me the eye, even the bartender. I patiently waited, and then this girl popped out from the back and told me I had about 20 minutes left to place my order. I mentioned the current time and that Google showed they close at 11 pm. She explained that the kitchen shuts down around 8:50 pm. So, I quickly ordered my wine, appetizer, and main course. I went for the corned beef poutine, and the flavors were fantastic. I asked her to double-check the ingredients for the Shepherds Pie and Gaelic Chicken dishes. Luckily, I was good to go for either, so I went with the Shepherds Pie. So, she brings out the Gaelic Chicken, and I'm like, huh? She goes, "Yeah, I had chicken on the brain." The food was tasty, but the mashed potatoes were cold. The mashed potatoes were lacking flavor, but I mixed them with the other items on the plate. I couldn't even squeeze in dessert, even though it didn't need any cooking. Ugh! Also, had a strange encounter over trying to connect to the guest wifi and she could have cared less. It was clear they don't follow the hours on Google. She mentioned that from Monday to Thursday, the kitchen closes at 9 pm, and last call for drinks is at 10 pm. Then she added that on weekends, they extend it by an hour, but I don't get how that works if they close at 11. Not your typical bar or pub grub, the food was flavorful! The overall experience apart from the food was just a letdown. I would've appreciated it more if I wasn't feeling pressured and aware that I was holding them back. I even said sorry, and she responded, "There is only one other person here." I definitely left before 10 pm, but I could sense they were eager to wrap up for the night.

We sat outside. Enjoyed the ambience. Servers were sweet but took 45 minutes to get our food. If you come here get the poutine & burgers with Guinness. Reubens were disappointing, not grilled & toasty. More like a corned beef sandwich with meat clumped in the middle. Brussel sprouts tasted boiled not crunchy at all.

Great for drinks and fried pickles. The food...meh. Irish stew tasted like dirty Moore and other items on the menu are not so great. Stick to the burger. Nothing to write home about but not bad either. The staffs great so between that and the Guinness I'll keep going back.Parking: Park around back or there's plenty one block north or along the tracks heading north.

We visited when Mathews had one of its most beautiful days of the years. The weather was very nice for sitting outside. The beer was great. Service was wonderful ( miss Annabeth). We tried a few different draft beer flavors and were happy with all. Will come back when there's no rain or hot days.
