“My Fiancé and I had dinner here celebrating our 10th anniversary this past thursday. We showed up slightly early for our reservation, they took us immediately. Sat us in a private intimate booth towards the back of the dining room. We ordered a bottle of wine (Freakshow). presented perfectly by our server Anna. (hopefully i spelled it correctly) who was amazing! She described the daily features gracefully and gave us time to look over the menu. We ordered the shrimp and grits appetizer. The grits were amazing... local, water ground, silky and seasoned perfectly. The shrimp were cooked proper and super hot. and the brown butter bbq was unlike any traditional bbq..so much better. The Chef came out to meet with us and recommended the Wahoo Oscar feature. Which we ended up ordering along with the 14oz Ribeye. The Wahoo was fresh as could be and cooked perfectly. Tasted like the ocean. Topped with a generous portion of lobster, a beautiful satin bernaise and crispy tempura asparagus, served over wild rice. That dish SLAMMED. The ribeye was charred beautifully and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The mashed potatoes were perfectly seasoned and had a nice hint of sour cream. Management touched our table a few times and made us feel welcomed and well taken care of. Everything was perfect. Right down to the espresso creme brulee with chocolate covered espresso beans. Total experience was 11 out of 10. We can't wait to go back! Thank you for being awesome!”

We removed the breading from the calamari, his tuna didn't have much flavor only salty. My crabcakes were as good as always! Maybe they should cut back off on the salt, you can always add more at the table.”

“What a blast! 🎯 Took my son and daughter to celebrate his 22nd birthday, and let’s just say—we’re basically axe-throwing pros now (okay… maybe semi-pros 😂). The instructor was awesome—kept us laughing, made sure we didn’t lose any fingers, and kept the drinks flowing. After nailing a few bullseyes (pure luck, I swear), we moved on to pool and darts to keep the fun going. Such a great time all around! Highly recommend! 🙌”

The atmosphere is rather loud and the chairs seemed to low for the tables. One irritant is they are adopting a common practice in the area of charging extra for the use credit cards. Feel that is nickel and diming when they charge over 3x retail for wines.”

“SPECTACULAR BREAKFAST......the pork belly, the generous portion of melted havarti cheese over a fried egg in butter with peppered bacon over a magnificent handmade burger......oh it was devine 💕 This was my first time and it will not be my last. Rylee, our server was joyful and was exceptional......all orders were flawless and the chef met every dietary need and substitution without an upcharge. Pricing was fair and well worth every penny. “Super cool little ice cream shop. Ice cream was delicious. Very neat atmosphere on the inside. My kids loved the train that circled around the roof. They also loved all the giant cow decor inside. The manager came around while we ate our ice cream and asked how it was. Definitely recommend for a cozy neat experience in the heart of downtown New Bern.”

Her husband is the Chef also. Always a fun dining experience.”

“Lazy night so ordered takeout from Sumo first timers. Quick turnaround ready as promised upon arrival - there are a few tables inside but looks like it's mostly go biz. I wanted spicy (Chinese) and wife wanted hibachi (Japanese). She had the winning choice as her steak & shrimp was ample, tender and tasty. My Hunan Shrimp was underwhelming - not zippy at all and overload ratio of veg to shrimp seemed almost bland vegetarian. Fortunately the Gyozo steamed pork dumplings appetizer was delightfully sublime and we got a dozen for $7. The value was sound for the volume of the meals.....i just expected more from "Hunan" style in my dish. I'm sure we'll be back and I'll go Szechuan instead.”

“Our bartender Reid was amazing! We went to a couple different bars downtown and tried out old fashions. His was by far the BEST old fashion in town. He even makes his own orange rose ice cubes, we were in AWE at the presentation and taste. He was also very friendly and talked with us while we were there unlike the bartenders at the other bars we were visiting downtown. I don’t know why this bar isn’t talked about more.”

“I have eating at Sara's since she opened. He menu is one of the largest if not the largest menu in New Bern. everything I have ever eaten at Sara's is delicious. The meatballs are large and delicious, and I love the marinara sauce. Service is always good with a smile. and I don't know of another restaurant that earned 100% from the NC Health Department.”

“I’m not typically a fan of the colors green, red, and whatever. I tend to prefer something more sporty. The food is not bad. If they added a TV inside it would be cooler to me. Under the chicken salad scoop I would prefer no lettuce. The logo for the place is neat. The grape salad is too small for me. I do notice the to-go counter which does complement the interior is a handy touch. And the food may not be the most filling I’ve had but it is tasty. The employees are nice and the service was quick. That’s the asset I appreciate the most.”

“Went in late. Got a rainbow bowl and tuna avocado sushi. Tuna sushi was easy on the stomach and the rainbow bowl had some sort of wasabi sauce. I dont like wasabi, but whatever said sauce was, made the bowl pretty good. You can also order a highly customized Poke Bowl of your choosing.”

While my Chicken Pad Thai was tasty, it lacked any spicy edge whatsoever and had minimal peanuts and no veg at all. So many ways to assemble pad thai and this wasn't nearly zippy or complete enough for my taste. Not bad, just not my preference. this was our first but will not be our last visit.”

On this occasion it was a Saturday night within an hour of their closing ,You know some places when you show up in that last hour you get that we're getting ready to close service and food, not here! Our server Leslie was amazing, she treated us like we were the first customer of the day, in no way did we feel the slightest bit rushed. Good food, good prices, and good service. This is one of the few places that still offers all three!”

“Our waitress was very friendly. Food was fast and portions were generous. I got the broiled platter with salad bar. The salad bar is small but well stocked and fresh. The broiled seafood was cooked through without being overdone. Decor is rustic and no frills but feels "homey". I will be back.”

“It has been a year since we last ate here. We refused to eat at a restaurant where they charge you 50 cents for a tiny side of salsa. That is poor customer service. We decided to try them again, and again was extra charged for items and a lack of willingness to compensate for a server’s error in taking the order! Tiffany charged $3 for toast on my wife’s order, even after we said that my wife would instead just eat the toast which came with my order as I wanted a waffle. Once it was brought to their attention, they still refused to take off the extra $3 charge. These smoke and mirrors tactics to make sales is bad form and poor business practice.”
