Kuma was a must for us to try. A local told us about Kuma's and said we would not be disappointed. At first glance you would think you needed to be dressed up for this place but in reality you can come in relaxed. From entry to exit the service was wonderful. This is how out meal went. We started off with the Crab Rangoon, wife had a Poke Bowl and Sassy Roll I had a Ramon Bowl and Mt Fuji Roll. The food was so good i had to wear it out. Clumsy me spilt the broth from the Ramon Bowl on my shirt and short but it was so good. The Server presented our dishes with the most professional style as you were in a 5 start restaurant. This will be a must on our next trip to New Bern.

Not pictured was the Wagyu Nigiri, and all of the food was phenomenal. Kuma is a great spot with great staff/service, and the setting is nice too.

My family are Sushi lovers. We were in the area on a Saturday afternoon and took a chance on Kuma. Everyone was extremely friendly and surprisingly happy we were there. The waitstaff was genuine, very knowledgeable of the menu and provided excellent recommendations. I am embarrassed to admit, but other than .50 cent instant Ramen made in a microwave, this was my first experience with Ramen. Sweet Grandma’s Spatula!!!!! That was life changing. Food was top notch and the experience was excellent. Look forward to coming back for more Ramen soon.

Nice upscale place. Either they have too many tables or not enough. They treat guests very politely. I hope they had more seats by the chefs...

One of the best sushi restaurants I’ve ever been to including Nobu in London and in NYC. Must try the sassy roll!

The poke bowl and roll were good, but the prices are absurdly high for specialty rolls.

Where do I start with Kuma Sushi Bar in downtown New Bern?Let’s start with the amazing customer service that I am greeted with everytime I come in. The manager Geoffrey is very kind and will make sure you feel at home when dining in at Kuma. All of the servers are very well-spoken and kind when informing you on their menu, which is very well-made and unique for their location. The setting and tone of the restaurant is very subtle with various Japanese art pieces and displays that really plays into the aesthetic of the scenery. I’m going to revisit this wonderful establishment every chance I get.

Great sushi spot. Ramen was very good too, though a tad expensive for ramen. Sashimi was very generously sized. The waiter I had was a bit overbearing, but I was one of only a few in there on a rainy Saturday for lunch.

Ordered their pork ramen. Broth was richer than the ones I had before. The freshly steamed veggies and shitake mushrooms was on point. However, the egg could used more marinating in soyu (it was pale) and the braised pork could be sliced a little thicker. A little pricier than the ones I've had in NoVA and DC but then it's the only decent ramen place in town, Service was fast and courteous.

Great sushi, lots of options, the Sassy Roll and the Unagi Nigiri are our favorites. The staff treats you like family. It gets busy with limited seating so plan to get there early on Fri/Sat nights- its very popular !
