Extremely popular Italian restaurant. I understand the owner has issues with gluten so they are very understanding of our issues. I had a very delicious pasta dish as did my wife. We finished our meal with a homemade gf desertDietary restrictions: Gluten free.

Though I would eat there while my friend was being checked in hospital. I ordered ravioli at the bar. What I got was tortillini smothered in meat sauce. Being very tired I went ahead and eat it. Today I saw the same stuff in the grocery store for $7, boy did they rip me off for genuine pasta that supposedly made in house. I blame the bar tender, she is a lair as bad as my ex- wife. She should have told me they were out of ravioli. She said she was sorry. Lots of help that was. The first time I ate here it was fantastic. I guess like everything else, the novelty wears off quickly in places like La Casetta . The regular staff are young people, very professional and pleasant. Maybe the bar tender didn’t have enough nerve medication during her shift. She struck me as a washed up woman of the evening with a lie to tellI think the next time I’m in New Bern I’ll try the Italian place across and down the street

THE MOST AUTHENTIC & DELICIOUS ITALIAN FOOD OF MY ENTIRE LIFE !!! Everything was incredibly fresh,tasted home made and all around a spectacular experience! Keep it up guys,your a wonderful family and I would recommend your restaurant to anyone.

What a disappointment. Maybe they've changed hands. The sauce was oddly pale and sweet. The veal I ordered was so tough it's uncertain its veal. Sting was ordering coffee. The cups were short in volume and in requesting more it was a duplicate charge of $4.50. So $18 for coffee alone. I love authentic Italian. This simply wasn't it. I've never done a review before but I was inspired today. If I bought Stouffers it would have been at least that good. Mangia elsewhere.

Delicious! Had the chicken piccata substituted the side pesto pasta for more piccata sauce. I initially thought the portion was small but could only eat half and took the other half home. My friend had the fettuccine Alfredo and enjoyed it. The side salad was fresh and the Italian dressing was very good as well as the bread that came out with the meal. Topped with a delicious glass of the Sauvignon blanc. Atmosphere, service and decor was nice. Can't wait to try the patio dining when it warms up. Will definitely return to try other dishes. Highly recommend.

The food is cute to look at. Nothing more. Very bland food, over complicated menu, small meat portions. Honestly I’m convinced the people leaving good reviews have diminished sense of taste and quality.

Good Italian food and pizza. Fantastic salads!Perhaps the “dough” that the pizza is made of could be more crunchy. The service is good, but the wait for a coffee is too long (15 minutes). With some improvements La Casetta deserves 5 stars.
Dined here for my daughter's 13th birthday! Food was good. Could've been a busy night but service was so so. Our table was the only one not to get bread...weird. But the food made up for it! The homemade pasta was worth the extra charge. $18 long Island was a little expensive. Chicken parm was so good!
Great atmosphere and the best Italian food in the area. Highly recommend the tortellini with crab sauce. The pizza is the best in town as well.

Today was our first wedding anniversary. We decided to try out a restaurant we hadn't tried before and chose La Casetta. The place is well appointed and we were greeted by smiles and a warm welcome. The service was timely and our orders arrived in good time. I ordered Eggplant Parmesan and my wife, Stromboli. My wife ordered a diet drink and I had water. My wife was happy with her meal with the exception of a cold tomato something dip. She said it tasted like canned tomato soup. Also, her empty glass of soda was never refilled. The Eggplant Parmesan was a disappointment as was the spaghetti. The sauce was similar to my wife's experience, it tasted like canned tomato soup. The spaghetti tasted bland and canned. Italian restaurants base their reputation on the quality of their sauce and this was a disappointment. We've dined at Paula's and our experience was excellent. Again, if I were to grade our dining experience it would be a C.

Top-notch customer service, with an extremely clean and warm family like atmosphere. The bar tender, DJ is AMAZING! She is friendly, fast and creative and can whip up the best drinks. She treats you like you are the only customer and makes you feel right at home from the moment you pull up a bar stool. Additionally, service and drinks were so good my wife and I got a table and I can't say enough about our waitress, Bella. She was AWESOME and I would recommend requesting her. She greeted us with a warm smile, she rattled off all the drink and meal specials and thoroughly knew the menu. Despite a packed restaurant, she checked on us continuously and ensured our meals were perfect. Last, the owners, Piero and Paula, were just as friendly and one can easily see the pride they have in this family restaurant and the genuine care they have for thier customers. This place is a GEM in New Bern and guaranteed you will have a great night out. All freshly homemade pasta was perfectly cooked, and the pizza was perfect. The crust had a slight crunch and soft inside, perfect mix of homemade sauce, and cheese, and the pepperoni is OUTSTANDING !!!!!! Last, the drinks the bartender DJ made were so creative and quiye impressive. Check out my pics. This place will not dissapoint.
