The food had big portions like the chicken fried rice. It also comes with not just a salad but a soup which is really good if you're still itching for food. My server was amazing, she had such an eccentric and fun personality and really enjoyed having her as my serving. I truly recommend going to sake and requesting either one of these 2 servers (May or Ree).

Grading on a curve. Sake gets their fish from the same place as any other sushi place in town. For $26, the 14 piece sashimi deluxe was bang for the buck and that means Kuma is *way* overpriced* Sake does a better job on quality vs value. They probably lose a point because the hibachi service is way too loud. Service was average. All-in-all, New Bern needs to distinguish between hibachi & sushi, thai & "oriental", etc We have 5 Japanese/hibachi places but none of them do either well.

I can't speak for all of their food, but the sushi was an average good sushi, fresh 1 to 10 ten being the best, and it was a 7. The Rice, on the other hand, was a 10 out of 10. Perfect sticky Rice to go around the sushi. If you get soup from there and you have a sensitive tongue to taste, you might test a little bit of a soapy flavor due too I believe the dishes are just not being cleaned enough. Also, if you prefer not to eat soop out of plastic, then this place is not for youDietary restrictions: There is gluten, free soy sauce and and a couple. Other things on their menu are gluten free

not recommended for food. sent back all 3 of our main courses, which was the steak hibachi and two chicken teriyaki dinners, there was a hair wrapped around the chicken and the steak was chewy. sushi was 50/50 philly roll was good, tiger roll was chewy and tasted extremely fishy. service was fine no complaints there, they did a great dessert and little thing for a birthday, so well ambiance there. Good service, just bad food in the long run. oh and it was still 77 dollars for 5 rolls 3 soups and a salad we didn't know about because we were asked ranch or ginger lol

I am giving 3 stars just because I have not tried their hibachi food - only the sushi. The staff is incredibly friendly, but the sushi seems to be subpar. This is I think the 3rd time in a couple of years that I’ve eaten here. Same result every time. IF I come back it will be to try the hibachi.

So, so disappointed. Ordered a mai tai. Should of known better when it was spelt mai thai. It came out and it was red. Horrible. Sat at a hibachi grill table. Salad was swimming in ginger dressing, soup was diluted beef broth. Ordered filet medium rare, it was well done, shrimp overcooked, rice tasteless. And all they have is yum-yum dipping sauce. Yuck. I asked if they had hot mustard no idea what I was talking about. Didn't finish the food and had to grab a burger later that night.Parking: Plenty. No issues

Decided to check this place out on a Friday night. Restaurant was clean, seating was good. Food was terrible. If you’ve ever eaten authentic Japanese food, this is an insult. Soggy rice, greasy tempura, etc.
