I drove to New Bern for a baby shower. After the fun was over I was Hungry so I ask the family, those who came on this trip are you ready for some good cooking? I'm buying, all you can eat. ? Yes I had some picky eaters in the bunch, but the food and service was so good i gave the waitress a nice tip! We are coming back next week just for the food.. My third time and their 2nd. 5 years ago was my first time and I haven't forgotten. ❤Parking: The two times I came there was plenty of parking spaces.

I love this place! Maybe the outside doesn't look fancy, but the food makes up for that. The crab soup is good, the fried shrimp is wonderful, even the brisket is very good. Sometimes the service could be better, but again the food makes up for it. The hush puppies are fresh and good too. We've had multiple dishes here and I always enjoy coming back to eat here. Next door is the fish market, which I need to try too.

When there is a line of locals out the front, waiting for the place to open, you know it’s probably going to be good.Friday fish stew was great.Reasonably priced.

I went there for my first time today. There was only one waitress and the younger generation were doing a excellent job at learning how to help. I can say that there was only one waitress, but this woman was working like 3 people. She was friendly. She had me smiling and laughing too. Attentive to 4 tables. Kept my cup full. I was pleased with experience and the service that I received. The food was hot. The sweet tea was good. The restaurant looked very clean. There were a few children in the restaurant that were very mannerable and seemed to be helpful with keeping things organized and clean. I will be looking forward to eating there again.

Relatives from Vermont and I ate her about 4pm on a Friday. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The food was excellent, particularly the broiled flounder and fried okra.The waitress, Linda, was personable, happy, knowledgeable and quite attentive.I will be back!

Service was extremely slow, food was decent. I tried paying with my debit card and the person said it didn't go through and that she had to reboot the reader. I told her I'd just pay in cash instead, well I look at my bank statement and they charged me. I call them up and tell them the situation and get told to bring my bank statement in with the charge, I said I can screen shot it being that I don't live in New Bern, and that they should be able to reverse charge in their system. She said nope you need to come in and once they settle up at night that they can't reverse a charge. I said that makes no sense. She then says yeah ok and hung up on me.

What a great place. All locals! The fish and fried green tomatoes were over the top. The daughter of the owner waited on us and what treat--- she was over the top too. This is the kind of restaurant you appreciate the kindness and the good food!

When entering you might think “this is going to be one of those dives that has great food”. After waiting for about 5 minutes for the waitress to show up and seat us I noticed the restaurant rating of 91 which in my opinion, any thing below 92 is questionable. The waitress was pleasant and attentive. There were only 3 other customers in the restaurant. We ordered.. fried green tomatoes with blue cheese dip, shrimp with fries, whitting fish with fries, tea & water. The tomatoes not great, the shrimp batter kind of mushy, and the whitting fish … one piece was ok but the second piece of whitting was mushy & not edible. The tab was around $27 plus tip. You have to form your own opinion but this was our experience. Not a repeat for us.

We like eating there. But last few times we went they always saying we close at 6 . Really at 6pm wow. It's dinner time . Plus when we go there is always a baby or child there. Im assuming one of the servers. Some people like to have a nice meal without kid running around or crying baby. And yes we understand items can be out . We just choose something else

Worst seafood I ever ate. Just about everything was overcooked, tasteless or soggy. They were out of the crab dip. The seafood itself was not fresh, despite the restaurant being located next to a fish market, and tasted like it was fried in old grease. The seating was worn out and everything else looked dusty and dirty. The waitress was nice and attentive though. I traveled from out of town to try this place and I will not be back.
