The Linville River Mercantile has the best pies, and cobblers. Peach cobbler a la mode and peanut butter pie today were delicious.

Stopped here after visiting Grandfathers Mountain. Such a lovely little store and terrific owners. The homemade blueberry cheese cake was wonderful!

I found this place next to the road and I stopped by curiosity. I found the best pumpkin pie bread with pecans . I want the recipe because is something out of this world. So chewy and thick and I can taste all the ingredients: the pumpkin, brown sugar, pecans etc oh Lord. Whoever made this deserves an award.

We had homemade hot apple cobbler with vanilla ice cream and Plantation Pie. Another customer bought butter cakes. An older couple makes the desserts by hand. The food was delicious!! We will be back!

Best key lime pie and pound cake. Excellent cheesecake that’s not overly sweet. Charming atmosphere with ample outdoor seating. Friendly and helpful owners.

Went on Friday at 2:00, but store was closed. Google says hours are only Saturday & Sunday 12-5. Had to rate, but it’s not an accurate reflection of the business since TripAdvisor apparently has wrong hours posted.
The desserts are out of this world! My husband and I had the pecan pie and peanut butter tart. Both excellent and highly recommend!

The owners refunded my $ & I’ve been told the man is taking some experimental cancer treatments that are working. I’m truly happy anyone can beat cancer so I’m updating the post to say, I got my $ back & the cancer patient is holding his own. I’m leaving my harsh review so you can see I will correct a review if the owner does right by me. I won’t go back, and the sign “apple butter made daily” stillIs outside, but the jar I bought, the lid didn’t seal & it was moldy when I opened it. I lost both parents & a cousin early early in their lives & countless others. I hope anyone that finds themselves facing it the best of outcomes. I appreciate getting my $ back for an inferior product. **Previous post: Hard to understand the husband has terminal cancer which has been posted for 1 yr 7 months. But Sat for the 1st time in years they were both in there working. You’re dying of cancer, terminal cancer, for almost 2 years, but you’re working & don’t look sick? I’ve been around a LOT of cancer, including my parents who died at 44 & 64, a cousin at 21, many many friends from 20’s -70’s. Never seen anyone with terminal cancer look so good. The wife Sat said she had the cancer. Wish they could get their stories to match? They’re never open the posted hours, ever, so why not change the sign to say closed due to family illness. Open when possible but they continue to have regular hours posted & make the shop look open. Really inconvenient for people who drive so far. Considering “someone” posted she’s trying to change the hours online for them, seems like since they both looked healthy & the same as always, they could change their hours themselves if they have the time & energy & health to run the store. Odd to use the word terminal yet there he is. Most terminal cancer patients, esp after 1 yr 7 mths, are bed ridden or are thin or look sick but they look just the same as always. Strange story.

Stopped by today but it was closed despite the fact that Google says it’s open. Looked pretty cool inside but unfortunately we were not able to go in.

What can I said best bakery in North Carolina amazing husband and wife. She makes the pineapple cake just like my aunt (R.I.P) used to make it, it's crazy how a cake can take you back in time when you were a child. Defenely a stop for all locals and tourists to see. Thank you for putting a smile on my face.
