“Proprietor gave me a taste of his homemade chili and sold me on his hot dogs…for me, chili makes a great dog! Economical: great interaction with owner-operator…it was too hot to eat under the sunbrellas outside so the car was my restaurant! It’s a walk up: to go only!“
“Went to lunch with my friend. Food was good & quick. When I got home I noticed they charged my card over $270 so I called. They were closed until Monday but when I called Monday they were horrified they made the mistake and made it right IMMEDIATELY...apologized and were sincerely sorry. I would go back in a heartbeat....honest & nice people and the food was good!“
“I have always loved this place, even as a child it was one of my favorite places to go eat with my mama and Nana. I have always ordered the same thing, a grilled cheese sandwich and a cup or bowl of bean and bacon soup( which they no longer have ?) Its just a great place altogether and I will always have memories of my nana and I eating there as I've grown up.“
“Excellent customer service! I had never been in before and was wanting a smoothie. The female employee working took time to explain the process of ordering a smoothie and helped me order one that would suit my taste. I decided on a banana peanut butter one with added chia seeds. And it was delicious! I asked for extra banana so she chopped a really large banana for my smoothie. I love how it was smooth and creamy and not icy tasting like many other smoothies I have tried before at other places. They have. a ton of smoothie options to pick from or you can just create your own with whatever you want in it and they will make it. And the smoothies contain protein, probiotics, calcium and other healthy goodies already and you can add extra stuff like chia seeds, hemp, flax, etc. I believe I will work my down the menu board this summer while I am home from college:). Oh, and they have frozen yogurt, coffee, shakes, pies. dog cups too.“
“Kids wanted to go there during the UNC-Duke game. They were convincing so I drove them the 2 minutes it takes us to get there from our house. It was worth it. They loved the milkshakes that the super friendly young lady made them. She took personal orders so my kids could make them any way they wanted. You want sprinkles mixed in with a topper of sprinkles as well? Ok. If cookies and cream with extra cookie topper is your thing, don't worry, they'll make it. Comfortable interior with festive decor and great little sayings. Nothing adds more to the mood than a funny saying that puts a smile on your face, in addition to the smiles on your kid's faces, and you forget that there was a basketball game going on. And, they are renovating to make room for tables and make it into more of a restaurant style eatery with more food options. Stay tuned...“
“Great spot to get some great Colombo brand soft serve frozen yogurt. This is not one of those yogurt bars where you fill your own cup and load it up with however much toppings you want and then get charged by the weight of what you built. It's a small yogurt shop that's inside of the Family Fitness Gym, you don't have to be a gym member to git on some of this awesome yogurt, the gym and the yogurt shop are owned and ran by same folks. I say small because they just have 3 tables if you want to go inside and have your yogurt, but not many do, they have a drive-thru which is where most of the fro-yo action is taking place, it's very convenient to drive up to the window, get your yogurt and roll on. They always have 6 flavors on tap. Chocolate, Vanilla & Tuxedo Twist (choc/van swirl) which are always available and 3 flavors that change weekly. My personal favorites are Keylime, Cherry Cheesecake & Peach, but there are many more that rotate around. You can get your yogurt in a regular cone, waffle cone (which they make), or in a cup (small, medium, large). They do offer a handful of toppings like that candied walnut stuff, chopped peanuts, m&m's, crushed Heath Bars and a few others. Toppings are $.65 for one scoop or $1.20 for two scoops. They also make hot fudge sundaes and banana splits using their yogurt. Right now with the major road construction project being done on Freeway Dr, their main entrance is closed, you must turn on Front St. beside the Freeway Mart gas station & use their rear entrance.“
