“My son doesn’t like traditional birthday cake but could eat a gallon of icecream in one sitting. So we reached out to request an icecream cake for his 15th birthday. It was absolutely delicious! Probably the best icecream cake we have eaten yet. And we get one yearly!!! Thank you so much!!!!“

“How did we ever survive in on Topsail Island without Maine Lobstah Shack!!! Having spent years in the New England region, I know good from great when it comes to Lobster! The lobster rolls are to die for and the lobster bisk is the best I've ever had. On top of that, it is a wonderful family owned and family run business. At the end of the day, it is the quality of the food that keeps us coming back! Treat yourself!!! Definately a five star experience!!“

“I love popping in sundial coffee and tea and I try to make it over there at least once a week I am a sucker for the lavender a latte. It is perfection in a cup. The staff is always so helpful, and so inviting and friendly and informative on everything they serve.“

“I've been away from Topsail for a few years and was back this past weekend. We went to Daily Grind twice, and it was very good both times, as I expected from my prior visits in years past. We had dirty chai and iced mochas. I was very impressed at how quickly our orders came up, even though the line was pretty significant.I'm happy to see this business doing so well!“

“As you can see from the other reviews the food and drinks are incredible here. But make sure to say hi to the owner. She is living the American dream and is a joy to speak with! We enjoyed our smoothies and breakfast burrito before leaving topsail, make sure to visit before you leave. You won't regret it!“
“We just moved here and my husband and I were looking for a bar near our house. The venue was awesome. Live music,...Sublime covers..so good though! Food truck was awesome and crowd was. 30s 40s. Drinks discounted for ems and fire fighters. But affordable even without the discount. People were friendly and welcoming. Come here.... seriously. It was fun!“

“Awesome coffee, ice cream, and conversation! The owner, Jim, was very nice to talk to while I had a scoop of the exhausted parent (espresso/burbon/chocolate chunk) ice cream and the ridge (white choc/caramel/vanilla) latte. The ice cream choices were super unique/interesting and very good! If I lived closer, I would definitely take advantage of the rewards card!“

“Great food and great service. Very nice atmosphere. The size is perfect for individuals. Enough to share a piece and get a piece of everyone in your party if you agree to share with your friends. Fresh ingredients unique to the restaurant. Loved it.“
“Awesome spot! The beer was great and the staff were super friendly! Our dogs were allowed indoors and they also had a patio. Outdoor area has a good amount of seating and some heaters. No food truck when we visited but a few places nearby to grab takeout (we went with Margherita Pizza- also great!). Will definitely be one of our regular spots on our visits to the area!“

“I love Unwined! I make it a point to visit every time I'm in the area. Great place to chill with a glass (or bottle) of wine while listening to live music on the large deck. If you're not in the mood for wine, they have beer, coffee, ice cream and other delicious items. Highly recommended!“
“We visit Leaf and Barrel often and love the ever changing selection of drafts on tap. We especially appreciate the BARtenders who are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the beers they serve. We really love that they treat everyone who walks through the door like family. Speaking of family, Leaf and Barrel is a family friendly BAR, who welcome well behaved children. We were recently (Saturday 6/3/23) enjoying a beer at the BAR and a Trash Plate from Port City Plates (Delicious BTW). While the BARtenders were great and the food was fantastic, the outrageous behavior of a few children who's parents thought it was ok to allow them to yell, scream, jump on couches, bang on EVERYTHING, scratch records on the record player (yes I said record player which is another reason to come out and enjoy some classic vinyl) and ultimately make everyone's Saturday afternoon much less enjoyable. Thankfully the Bartender politely asked the adults to please have the children keep their voices down. Well... that should have been a clue that your children are disrupting the BAR. However, instead of taking the hint, the "adults" were offended that they were requested to have their child act like civilized human beings. They promptly paid their less than impressive tab and left...but not before leaving a 1 star review on Yelp! I'm not the one who usually leaves reviews. Some places are fantastic and for that, I go back and spend my hard earned dollars. Other places are just not worth my dollar or my time to leave a review...and therefore I speak with my dollars go elsewhere. However, when I hear that someone has left a poor review because they were asked to have their children act appropriately at the BAR... I felt the need to post my first Yelp review. Leaf and Barrel, as I stated previously, welcomes everyone to come out and enjoy a great selection of local beers or some classic cocktails, some live music or nostalgic vinyl, and some of the areas best food trucks. it's worth a trip whether your a local to Hampstead or just visiting the area. If you have kids, BRING EM, just ask them to bring their best BAR behavior!“

“Great local seafood tex/mex walk up food stand essentially.Food is great, haven't had a bad thing on the menu and I've tried it all. The menu is pretty small but that keeps the service time with quick turn around. Highly recommend the the coconut rice in whatever you get.Prices are fair considering you are in central Surf City in the middle of everything touristy.Atmosphere, the seating is all outdoor covered and uncovered picnic, rail counter or small table seating. I don't know I'd say it's good for large parties and it's not a formal eating place.Highly recommend Shaka Taco, just wish the location was easier to get in and out of sometimes.Parking: There are 2 small lots for parking next to the building but they are hard to navigate if you have a large vehicle.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a handicap accessible ramp to the ordering window and they will bring your food to your table after ordering.“

“We have been coming to Topsoil for years and this is the one of two reliably good places to eat on the island, in my opinion. We've never been disappointed and always leave full.Ironically, never had their oysters, but their shrimp is delicious and we always, *always*, get the fries for the app.Dietary restrictions: Great with allergens to ensure no cross contamination on the menu. We've never requested modifications, though.Parking: Parking can be difficult during on season, but never any problems off season. Be careful where you park, because some spaces are reserved for specific businesses.“

“There are not enough words to explain how wonderful Sea Blue Coffee & Ice Cream is. Every time I am in Topsail getting a coffee from there is a MUST. They have the most delicious coffee and it is consistently delightful. They also have the cutest decor, jewelry, , keychains, clothes and more. I 100% recommend going to Sea Blue.“
“We always try to grab snow cones whenever we go on beach trips, and this Pelican's is some of the best snow cones I've ever had. We've gone twice since we came out on this trip, and both times were fantastic. Michelle was our "snoball chef" both times, and she was just fantastic. We'll probably go again before we leave!“

“Stopped for dinner last min and the atmosphere was great our server was amazing…the food on the other hand was overpriced we thought and I don’t recommend getting the crap cakes as the ones I got had no lump crab and were small and dry. Our server noticed I was not eating them and right away asked If I would like something different which was very nice. I’m here to say I do recommend the shrimp and grits they were delicious with a hint of spiceWe also got the crab shrimp linguine that was good and the fried shrimp was delicious. I wouldn’t recommend the lobster bisque as It was very runny and no pieces of lobster, but the crab dip we got as a appetizer also deliciousBut on all it was a great experience“

“I remember when this place opened, I was 14 years old, and nothing looked like it does now, but the deli hasn't it changed at least from what I can tell from the pictures. Some of my fondest memory's happened in or around close by to deli as I worked there for close to 4yrs from the day they opened. Barry, Billy, Joey, Alex, Caitlin, Meg, Johnny Bacon, Phil, and Chris were all family, those summers, and even winters! The one thing that brought us all together to make the deli such a great place was the love of a good sandwich and good food in general. We did only have great food but we all took alot of pride in serving the local people of surf city as well as the tourists. I have since moved away and been away for many years. But am so happy to see the deli is still there going strong. Every time I get to that side of N.C., even if it a lil out of the way, I try to make my way there for a chicken cutlet, fresh cut roast beef, or the famous Italian! And oh yeah don't forget the extra sour pickle! It's been awhile since I have gotten my fix but I believe I will make there here soon to see my old deli family, and catch up, and hopefully to drive Billy crazy with my southern accent and slang! He use to love one phrase so much I believe it was " Do What!" Hope all is well with them and can't wait to see them all again and have one of the best sandwiches on the face of the planet!“

“The wife and I have been to Nineteen for brunch on several occasions. Every time has been a great experience. We have found all parts of the brunch menu incredibly yummy! Service has been responsive and wait times very minimal. Cost is very friendly to the wallet. Warmer weather brings opportunity to eat on the outdoor deck and views of the golf course. If your looking for a great dining experience for brunch, let the mimosas fly and do not hesitate to go to Nineteen.Wheelchair accessibility: Parking spaces are not extremely close to the front door, but a nice inclined sidewalk with no steps is great for accessibility.“

“Icecream was yum and merch was cool. There wasn’t a place for me to fill my reusable water bottle! Which is always ridiculous in this wasteful world, but especially on a coastal town where plastic is killing our sea turtles. I asked if I could fill my water somewhere and was told I could be given a plastic cup to fill mine. That defeats the entire purpose…“

“Amazing service and food was phenomenal, I’m not sure why previous reviews were bad and it made me nervous, but this place is so amazing. It is a little pricey, but their seafood is so fresh! An amazing experience all together! Sara was an amazing server and she made sure everything was perfect but wasn’t overbearing, we loved her!“

“My husband and I have been here multiple times over the last 5 years and tonight was so disappointing. The steak was the dryest piece of meat you could have imagined and the remaining entrees our table ordered were extremely underwhelming for the price. The "rack" of elk was two extremely small pieces for an astronomical price. A $400 meal that was overwhelmingly disappointing and was not a culinary experience as we've had in the past. Save your money and go elsewhere.“
