This place still has its local charm, which is incredibly rare these days. I came in for lunch, had the chopped BBQ plate, and I gotta say it was amazing. Great flavor on the meat, as well as bother the Sweet & Smokey and Vinegar based sauces. Haven't tried the Statesville location yet but Troutman misses this BBq joint. Wish the town would have worked with the owners a little better to address their concerns with the ever changing town's development. Service was spot on and it was always busy.

Wonderful off the beaten path place! We had sliced and chopped bbq, red and white slaw and hush puppies. Everything was very good. Try the runnier more vinegar tasting bbq sauce in your red slaw! They make the bbq sauce in house. Our waitress Kerry was very friendly and efficient and gave us a complimentary dessert because it was our first visit. Cash or check only to pay. You can't go wrong eating here and I highly recommend.
