“It's a day later and I'm more certain that I like it like this... it's a quiet little stop on the main drag mid-week not sure what happens later though. high tops out front, several tables up front, more in the main bar and a pool room off to the side at a modest $5.00/hr rate - fabulous if you're good, near to gouging if you're not ;-)feels dark inside but isn't, more like 'subdued' especially with the understated overhead and Peter behind the bar who is not from around here in the best of all possible ways - knows his craft and understands the product and clients; a rare and special find these days. a few regulars/locals coming and going as I sip my sour to the musics... not to different from the Mill back in Mundelein when Jon and Angie owned it.stepped out to go to the races and got back a little later for a bite because peanut butter cheeseburger plus chips and it still feels comfortable here as the sun sets down on main street. not the burgeriest burger but it ain't all gimmicked up either; honest, locally sourced beefs squished to order and fixed up as advertised (am I alone in wanting chunky peanutty butters?)as an aside: if I'd've let the razz-beery pint warm a bit more I might have gotten the effect I was after... it takes a bit longer than I had to coax the flavors out.“
