“This pub is amazing, the food is excellent, they even have soda bread, they have several dishes I grew up on, I have duel citizenship and own a home in Wexford Ireland, I absolutely love this place. Will be my go-to pub for now on.”
“Fun restaurant with a cool atmosphere. Had breakfast and everything was good except the hashbrowns. The hashbrowns have no taste and are bland. Everything else was pretty good.”
“Usually the food is amazing here. I just ordered a salad with lamb and picked up. The salad was basically whole leaf barely cut as well as the lamb. Large slices that needed to be cut up. Also needed to heat up the lamb as it was not hot and it had only been 10 mins since I picked up. Maybe it is a busy night or someone just doesn’t know to cut up food. I will try again but was surprised.”
“This is my first time in the area, I saw this place driving in and had to try it, so needless to say, the food and service were extremely exceptional. The staff were professional, courteous, and efficient.”
“Wine tasting tonight with Reed was fantastic. Such an incredible perspective and knowledge of wine based on being in the wine making business! Such a great resource to learn from a different perspective.”
“The whole experience was AWESOME. Everything from the plate ware, the service, the seating, and the presentation was tops. Among my top 3 experiences at a Mexican restaurant. They even had an adorable robot that delivers your food to the table so the server can easily disperse hot plates to each person safely. My kids loved that! And the food was so well plated. You can tell the kitchen didn’t just slop it on the plates. Everything was carefully placed on the plates with intention. It looked wonderful. The portions were plentiful, not skimpy and everything was delicious. Lupe, the manager stopped by our table several times to check on us and made friends with our 2 year old. Our drinks stayed full, requests were met promptly and the music wasn’t too loud. Every staff member was ready to engage and was KIND. Our new fave Mexican spot!”
“They are a good Mexican sit down place they are really nice and friendly and they are pretty fast too! Great casual place to go with friends and family definitely recommend! :)”
“Shout out the good folks at Grits! Rolled in there with a group of 13 Cub Scouts after a rainy camp out. They were very accommodating in taking care of us, moving tables / seats around and such. Food was very good. I ordered the Shipwreck. Would recommend for down home cookin’ and small town hospitality.”
“I took a chance on this random deli in Waxhaw during my lunch break and the reuben sandwich I tried was phenomenal. I regret not taking a photo of it to share. It's a small space but it's in a historical strip of buildings and understandable. I am excited to try out other menu items the next time I'm in the area.”
“We love D’Antonio! Delicious food & drink, and beautiful atmosphere. I must say though, what really made our evening perfect was Rubio! His kind, professional, and thoughtful demeanour far exceeded our expectations! Thank you for creating a lovely evening for us Rubio! We will be back!Joe and Natalie Jablonski 3/29/24 - the patio.”
“WTH is always great to visit! They have good variety of beers, ciders and non-alcoholic beers too. I like that they have a rotation of food trucks so you get to try different food on different visits. They also have paint & sip about once a month which is always fun to do! Weekend bands come and play live good music ?”
“Delicious food, with a variety of different types of Asian dishes. Very friendly service, and happy to accommodate any requests. All white meat chicken in the dishes too!”
“I find there stuff, for any meal, to very good for “diner food” and I love the weekly deals they have! Love the burgers and pasta! I’d say their breakfast is better than stacks. Always have a friendly server too!”
“My husband and I enjoyed a date night at Fox's. The Stromboli and ranch dressing (my dipping choice!) and service were very good. The dining area inside is quite nice, and we'll have to go back and try out the gas firepits in the middle of the outside tables!”
“Maxwell's is a fantastic little spot in downtown Waxhaw. It's also very popular, which is great for the restaurant, but makes it a challenge when we wanted to have lunch today. The place was packed with a bunch of people waiting outside. We put our name on the list and were told it would be about 40 minutes. No biggie, Waxhaw has plenty to offer while we wait. It's so good that this place is so well known and popular.Today I got the Grilled Salmon Salad. The salad is what is to be expected - fresh greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, croutons, hard boiled egg. Everything was fresh and tasty. On top was a spectacular piece of salmon, grilled perfectly and arrived smelling like Sunday brunch, as it was cured with maple syrup. That made it very unique. Interestingly, the aroma was wonderful, but the flavor just wasn't there. The fish itself tasted great, but the maple never really hit my tastebuds. Could be because it was lightly blackened (by design) and the crust formed there took away some of the sweetness? The fish was great, don't get me wrong, but it smelled better than it tasted. When we return, I'll get it again. I just wish the taste had a stronger maple flavor. Our pescatarian middle schooler got mozzarella sticks and hummus with pita. The sticks seemed pretty standard fare, but our kid really raved about how good the hummus was.As for the atmosphere, the room is bright and inviting, with classic looking tools and components on the walls. Plenty of TV's with sports. Although it was one room that was packed with people, we could still hear ourselves and carry on conversations at our table. Maxwell's loses a start for atmosphere because the tables were too jam packed together. Servers and patrons alike kept bumping into our chairs as they walked by (but everyone was polite about it). I was guilty of this too when navigating to the bathroom, as I couldn't avoid chairs which were back-to-back on my way across the room. We were seated near the bar, which is where people would stand around while waiting for a table. For some of the meal, a gentleman's behind was hovering right over my wife's shoulder as were waiting for our food to arrive. The constant bumping took away a little from our experience. If we were in a booth, we probably wouldn't have been impacted.Maxwell's is a fabulous restaurant and is a great reason to visit downtown Waxhaw!Vegetarian options: Our kid is a pescatarian and got mozzarella sticks and hummus with pita. They said it was really good hummus, so that's good. There are plenty of salads to choose from, plus a garden burger.Parking: Street parking is okay, with parallel parking on one side and angled parking on the other. You can always park around the corner on South Providence Street too.Kid-friendliness: There were plenty of kids in the restaurant from toddlers to middle schoolers. There's a kids menu with crayons too.”
