Most authentic tasting Japanese restaurant in Wilmington, NC. Growing up in Japan for 29 yrs, I really miss variety of great tasting Japanese foods. Genki offers many of my favorites. The chef spent some time to truly appreciate the Japanese cuisine.

Absolute garbage and a major ripoff. Ordered the sashimi dinner, and it was like a free sample, low quality and a million dollars. I'm convinced there's no decent Japanese food in the coastal Carolinas. If it weren't a ripoff I wouldn't have left a review at all, because it's not the worst sashimi I've ever had, but throw in the exorbitant price for virtually nothing and they deserve all the negative reviews in the world. Trash.

I was in town for work craving sushi.. pretty skeptical as always but the reviews were great so I decided to give it a try. The place was absolutely packed and they somehow managed to get me sat. I was expecting to my food to take a long time given the fact there were so many people and only one sushi chef but my food came out in about 5 minutes, I couldn't believe it. I got a few maguro and sake and wow were they incredible.. so fresh and vibrant it was absolutely delicious. The rolls I got were no less amazing and it was just a great meal overall. The service was the cherry on top. So busy yet the waiter was on top of his game. I'll be back for sure
