We have ordered take out twice from here. The sushi is really good and good quality. The only thing that's a little overwhelming for us is the amount of cream cheese in the speciality rolls. We lived in Hawaii for several years and have had pretty good sushi. In our experience, the sushi at Kaiyo is just as good, if not better than the sushi spots we used to go to when we lived there. It's our new go-to place for Japanese take-out. We are giving 4 stars because of the styrofoam containers that certain menu items come in, the large amount of cream cheese in some of the rolls, and we also wish they had allergy info listed on their website, or an allergy menu. Being a parent of a child with life threatening allergies makes it impossible to order anything off a menu to make sure it's safe without an allergy menu. If they had one, and we knew that they took precautions, we would be able to order out more often, or even eat-in, which we almost never do because of fear for our child. I don't want my review to sound negative, just suggesting some things that would make this place 5 stars for us. In closing, if you haven't eaten here, we suggest you try it.

The server Jetli was so nice. I requested to switch dumplings to crab rangoon on my bento box and he was able to do it for me. The food was good with the lunch special price.

Waited over 2 hours for food and no they were not busy.

Food is great. Hard to be disappointed with the options and specials they have. Drinks are good. My old fashioned was perfect. The tempura brussel sprouts were surprisingly delicious. No need to look further if you’re in Bellevue looking for quality sushi or a decent meal overall. A perfect addition to the town.Kid-friendliness: You can bring your kids and it won’t be an issue. They have the right level of music to drown them out.

Yelpers were pushing me here, it was only right to try it out. Perhaps a Saturday night was not the best time to give it a shot? The entire space was full around 7:30, but we were seated quickly. The host gave us menus and quickly split. After close to 15 minuets our server arrived and hurriedly asked our drink order. The drinks, the drinks are an issue for me. Sure, it may seem like a decent list of choices. It is not. It is 2024 and there is an unlimited amount of drink choices to be had. Maybe these folks do not know that? The drink choices are extremely limited, Basic bottled beer and the standard mixed drinks. I settled for a margarita knowing very well that such a drink is not going to pair well with my future raw fish. I will add right now that the Saki was spot on delicious. Back to my drink, it was not good at all. The glass was warm which made the drink warm. I'll also add right now that we had to almost beg for glasses of water. Our server seemed stressed and out of sorts. We ordered the Crab Rangoon and the Steamed shrimp dumplings as appetizers . Almost 20 minuets later, our luke warm dumplings and barely edible Rangoons arrived. The Rangoon filling was super good, it was the wrapping that was inedible. Tough, almost stale tasting. I do not recommend. We got an order of Yellowtail sashimi and it was very very delicious. We ordered a handful of rolls too. The crunchy spicy yellowtail roll was Amazing and maybe my favorite. The spicy tuna was dang good too and there was something different that set it apart from all the other "spicy tuna" rolls in the area. The crazy roll was just that, Crazy. Spicy tuna, peppered tuna and whitefish too. It was really good. The Black Dragon roll had that eel and it was like a sweet desert, so good. Then there was the Out Of Control roll, it has octopus and that critter has an amazing texture that was perfect. The rolls were as good as every one said they were. If the service and the drinks were brought up to same level as the rolls, I'd be good for all 5 stars.

This is an update to my post from 2/29 regarding a negative experience with this establishment. Sunisha Hill, general manager of Kaiyo Sushi, reached out to me personally in hopes to fix the problem visit. She presented a heartfelt apology and thoughtfully & respectfully offered to right the wrong. She more than made it right. Her message suggested she'd personally see to it that the order was remade (correctly) at a future date. After a little discussion, we called back to give Sunisha and Kaiyo the opportunity and we were not disappointed. Every specific part of the order was perfect. She also added a gift card on top of the personal attention to the order. We appreciate thought and effort that went into turning this customer service experience from bad to great, fully restoring our confidence in Kaiyo's customer service model!

Best Sushi Restaurant in town . You should try the Fiesta Sashimi, Hawaiian Roll, Yummy Roll and the teriyaki steak.

Food was amazing! I cannot wait to go back. The sushi was the best in the area; fresh! The waiters were attentive never letting my water get low. Very cute intimate spot; cannot wait to try the drinks next time I go
