“Fun location, friendly and helpful staff. Super busy because of the holiday weekend but we could still hear ourselves talk. The meatball sliders aren't very imaginative but the truffle fries are good and they're generous on the gravy with their poutine.“
“Went here with a group from work. It was perfect. Plenty of space to mingle. Good drinks. Got a bunch of apps-none were fantastic but none were bad either. Bar tender was kind and efficient. Although there were more than 20 of us, felt like there was plenty of space for us and for other customers and that we weren't in their way at all. Worth the stop in“
“Applebee's is always great food, great people and always a good time! We ordered Mozzarella Sticks (best marinara sauce around) Boneless Wings with Sweet Asian Chili for apps and Sirloin, broccoli and mashed for one entree and the Whiskey Burger for the other! The food was excellent and our adult beverages were made to perfection. Always worth the trip.“
“Love this place! Patty melt and fried Chicken sandwich are favs! Service always a pleasure. Staff is amazballs.Surprised by previous review from Chris. Did he ask beforehand if they could accommodate his dietary restrictions? Also, it’s illegal for many restaurants to allow outside food into their establishment. I’m sure if he had asked before miscommunication could’ve been avoided.“
“Food was pretty good... always is. Service not so great. I don't need a mom telling me when I need a water. Honestly it was rude. Didn't offer me a drink but water after 2 beers. Then left us alone for an hour... Will I return? Yes probably. Because it's local and has great food. Will that waitress be there? 9/10 says no. The service switches over every 3-4 months you never get the same people and that's weird to me... but the food is solid.“
“Super welcoming atmosphere. Friendly staff and the food was fantastic. Only complaint I have is the wings were SO hot and fresh the containers kind of fell apart in travel. I'm sure they wernt meant to travel for an hour and a half though. Overall amazing place, worth the money.“
“Went here for the first time last weekend. Was very busy but, we showed up right in time and sat right down. Really good food. We had the Big Mac quesadilla, awesome! Mac and cheese with shaved steak. And my wife had a Caesar salad with steak tips. We loved everything. We'll go back. Looks like a great place to watch a game too.“
“State Street Saloon is one of those places that make you feel welcomed. Good food at reasonable prices. Going strong forever in good times and hard times . It defines the true Portsmouth, old school, hard working town that has seen a lot of changes since my parents moved here in 1979.“
“Honestly, I love TJs. Many of the reviews for this establishment paint it out to be a college frat party, but that honestly has not been my experience. I will start out by stating that TJs does stay open late, so therefore there is a late-night crowd. As anyone knows, patrons that partake in late-night crowds can sometimes get rowdy, and therefore, there are negative reviews about the staff. For what it is worth, the staff at TJs have always been incredibly awesome whenever I go. They are attentive, fast, and nice. Can the establishment get packed during the late night hours? Absolutely, but the staff do a great job of navigating this kind of rush to provide a great experience for all patrons. That being said, my favorite time for going to TJs is during their pre-rush time, which is typically anytime before 8/9pm. The bar is expansive, but no matter where you sit, it feels like you are sitting at the bar. There are TVs everywhere to watch any game that might be on, and they always have drink specials when Boston/New England teams are playing. Drinks are your typical bar drinks (think vodka sodas, margaritas, etc.) but they also have a wide variety of draft and can offerings. My favorite thing about TJs? Their food. It's probably the most underrated food in the Portsmouth area. They have a wide variety of offerings, and they consistently change up their specials. Think elevated pub food...not your greasy gross pub food. And their portions are huge for the money that you end up spending. All in all, TJs will continue to be a frequent spot of mine. Know what you are getting into when you come late night, but if you get the chance to come pre-rush, you'll find the charm and allure of the food, staff, and venue.“
“I had to come check out this cool place, and it did not disappoint! I got a bowl of seafood chowder and a tasty alcoholic drink (I forget what was in it, but it was called the NYMBL). I was given five star service and had a great time overall.“
