Just outstanding bread and pastries. I grew up in England and visited France several times a year to see my grandparents. I live for bread and butter and flaky pastries. It is so hard to find baked goods that rival those you can get in Europe, Fire Dog is right up there. The pain au chocolate and cream filled croissant (see pic) were light and perfectly flaky, better than any of the bakeries I have visited in Boston that emulate French baking. And the bread ??? They mill their own flour at the front of the store and so the kids got to watch the process. Staff are friendly and welcoming. An absolute gem.

Small place with cozy tables, where the culinary experience is truly extraordinary. Each item I've sampled here has exceeded expectations, boasting impeccable texture and flavor profiles. Arriving early ensures the freshest delights, with pastries that surpass all expectations, offering a delightful symphony of flavors. If you are visiting the area, prioritize going to Firedog Breads at doors open. God bless you my brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers.Vegetarian options: Bussin

too bad, you can't just go there and get their excellent food, but have to preorder...

Some of the best local bread in Keene. When I ate bread regularly, it was the one I typically purchased from their storefront or the Monadnock Co-op. But every once in a while, I have a hankering for some sourdough, so I purchase a half loaf at their store, which will last me several days.

Excellent bread! Baguettes are outstanding. Sesame sourdough bread is highly recommended!

Loved all the pastries we got there. I understand why you had to order ahead. Finished all the yummy treats we got. You have to get there and taste it yourself!!

Just discovered this great little bakery in Keene, NH. Terrific French pastries and a variety of interesting breads. Most of their business is based on ordering the day before to pick up the next day, but they also have a smallish variety of pastries for walk-ins. I suggest ordering ahead on their website. The breads change daily, as do some of the pastries. Everything was delicious. People at the counter are very friendly. No tables, all takeout. A little hard to find their storefront, which is in the back of a parking lot, but worth the effort.

Drool worthy. If I lived closer I would gladly gain 100lbs to eat the delicious creations contained in this establishment daily!

Any review I give is going to be an understatement. I worship Fire Dog Breads. 1) the croissants are the best I've ever had outside of France; 2) the breads are out of this world and incomparable in texture, freshness, perfection and deliciousness 3) I often eat the pastries and/or croissants day-old, and I SWEAR they are still almost as perfect as they are when I shove them in my mouth the minute I get in the car; 4) their sandwiches...oh, their sandwiches... do NOT underestimate the value of exquisite bread to surround your fillings --I'm a veggie girl because that veggie sandwich is exactly what you should demand when you want vegetarian food. It's delicious and balanced and original! 5) sigh. The staff. Yes, I found this place when I was simply searching for some good bread. Yes, I go back for more and more delicious bread, croissants, pizza, pastries and sandwiches (truth be told I often buy FAR more than even I am capable of getting in my gullet). But, the thing is...when I go in, I'm greeted like my truest friends greet me. And, I have conversations with these folks! Because they are not only charming and warm, they are also erudite, intelligent, and knowledgeable. When I'm trying to behave and I have to restrain myself from Fire Dog, I miss my buddies as much as I miss the food-gasm I will experience from my order. Thank you all for making my day, my week, my month...frankly, these last couple of years! Even if I hate New England, I'm euphoric that you do not, because that means I got to get you into my life. And--of course--my heart. The ONLY time I am not lonely for my life in Europe is when I'm eating ANYTHING from Fire Dog. If you are a potential customer, and you want to be shocked and awed at just how good a bakery can be, get your butt to Fire Dog!

Having lived in Europe, I'm pretty picky about pastries. Most American bakeries make tough ones, or put so much butter in them that they are greasy. Not Fire Dogs. Their pastries are even better than one finds in Europe -- very light and flaky, full of flavor, and a great variety of more difficult-to-find delights. The only tough part is that they run out quickly and don't carry the same things every week. But if you have a chance to get there right after they open, or order ahead, you will be amazed. Best ever!

They have AMAZING breads and pastries. But order ahead the afternoon before - they often sell out of the most popular ones before closing time. Definitely try the Kouign Amann!

Love the bread. Love the pastries. And i especially love the Parisian sandwich! Only critique is that they are closed beginning of week and that price may prevent new customers from trying their goods. #FDB
