I had been wanting to go here for a while bit was disappointed when I finally did. They did not have any corn bread (which I really wanted) or pickles when we went (pickles are supposed to come with the meal and nothing was substituted for the missing item). I had the pulled pork which was ok, the mac and cheese which was dry and flavorless and the hush puppies which were over cooked but were still ok. I felt bad for the lady working the counter to take orders because she was running from taking orders and to serve the food but she was very nice.

If I could give 0 stars I would. The food was absolutely disgusting and I spent $45 on the worst food possible. Never again and warning everyone I know! Don’t ever go here it’s so gross and spend your money elsewhere!!!!!

Giving these folks a 5 star for sticking it out and kicking butt in these crazy times. And overall - a really good experience! The one-star reviews need to be taken with a grain of salt.Kind service at the window, not a long wait time, food was packaged sturdily for transport to the rooftop or boardwalk. Loved the little extras like mini bottles of Tabasco!We got the seafood platter, it was abundant, tasted great and fulfilled that summer boardwalk shore need for fried fish!! Calamari were big and tasted fresh. Shrimp were well seasoned. Cod was plentiful and thick cut, and the "chips" were waffle fries...it'd make our British friends cringe, but we liked it! And the real surprise was the crab cake - so much good crab meat!We like this spot for the casino, parking (and Amada - again someday!) so Pit Boss is super convenient and we are glad it's going strong through social distancing!

Pit Boss is only open on the weekend. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised. We have eaten at the BEST BARBECUE places in Texas. Llano's, Cooper's, Salt Lick, etc. The service was great, the Brisket and Pulled Pork were moist and tender. Served Texas style on a slice of bread with pickles and slaw on the side. The cornbread was moist and had whole kernels of corn baked in, mac and cheese and baked beans were good. Everything was nicely packaged and the food was fresh. We took it outside to the picnic tables on the patio. Good barbecue is hard to come by in NJ but the Pit Boss is doing a very good job. Thank you!!!

I ordered crab cakes & my husband ordered fish & chips, we paid. When we went to pick up our food, the cook informed that the crab cakes were frozen solid & he wasn’t sure how they was gonna taste. He was hesitant that they wouldn’t cook all the way through, so he suggested shrimp & chips! Keep in mind crab cakes were a dollar more, but I didn’t make a big deal! Food looked great...shrimp was too hard, no shrimp taste, fish looked good, no taste of fish, I spit it out! Tried to eat the fries, they were cut in an open weave design, cold, tasteless & hard! Disappointed in everything, will never go back!

Sadly, the worst food I've ever paid for. Far below any reasonable standards in terms of flavor and quality. Tasted like they sprinkled dried seasoning on the brisket after it was cooked. Definitely was not smoked, either. 0/10 would not recommend.
