If you love chowder, this should be a must stop location for you. This no frills chowder hut is some of the best in the area. Their New England chowder is honestly some of the best I've ever had. Creamy but not too rich and packed with flavor, it would be a sin to skip out on this. Get it in a bread bowl and it's plenty to share! Who could resist the crusty bread and chowder combo. And don't be deterred with its cold out, you can easily get everything to go!

as you walk through the shopping village the aroma of chowdah tickles your nose and entices you as if in a trance. A cartoon who smells a fesh pie left on the window sill, you can't help but fall victim to it's inebriating fragrance. When you finally find this gem in buried deep in the shopping jungle, the doors open to a bouquet of bisque, chowda, and lobster alike. It crashes into your nose like an embrace from a long lost lover in a former life. Something out of a dream as you bring the first spoon full of bisque and oyster crackers to your lips. A flavor so familiar, but you've never had something this intoxicating. Your mind races to make sense of it, but it's impossible. You're hopelessly lost in the bliss of the bread bowl bisque.

Unquestionably the best New England clam chowder I've ever had, and I've sampled as far north as Maine. Note how many other reviews make similar observations. I found it remarkably delicious and savory, with the perfect consistency. Definitely the culinary highlight of a beach trip and I will make sure to return whenever I'm in the area.

I live in Marlton, NJ, which is about an hour's drive from my front door to Chowder, a small gem of a soup restaurant in Beach Haven. It's not unusual for me to be drawn there three or four times a year. I can wake up in the morning with no intention of having soup at Chowder, but suddenly, I find myself racing through the Pine Barrens, craving some gazpacho soup (my favorite) or their perfectly done chowder. It's difficult to explain, but the urge just takes over, and I have to drop everything to go get some. It's simply the best. It's also a great excuse tograb my beach chair and let the ocean air and a bowl of soup cure what ails me. Best day.

For many years, our very first stop is the Chowda Hut (aka Country Kettle) for ... chowder. Really good chowder.., tradition!I got the traditional clam chowder - just enough spice - delicious. My partner loves mixing Lobster Bisque with Traditional... they will always blend their soups for you. She loved it - like usual.Service is always friendly, and Bay Village offers a nice ambiance - this is a walk-up counter. There are others that make chowder - and are equally good - but this is a great place.and get an elephant ear at the nearby bakery too!

Pretty good chowda and probably the best on the island. Easy pick up and a quick bite.
I’m giving 3 stars, unfortunately, because the clam chowder had little to no clams in it. At that point, it was like paying for cream and potato soup. During off season, the soup was so much better than when we went here during the Summer. Hopefully they’ll do better!

This chowder is exceptional. Rhode Island blends Manhattan and New England into a perfect mix. A killer dinner in this area is to grab a slice of pizza and hand cut fries from bay village Pizza with a bowl of this chowder and eat together at an outdoor table. Dipping pizza and fries into the chowder is a winner also! Enjoy
