“I recently hosted a holiday party at 690, and everything exceeded my expectations! The atmosphere was vibrant, the space was perfect, and the bar options were excellent. We rented the entire upstairs private floor with a cash bar, and it worked out beautifully. They catered the event, and the food was absolutely phenomenal, with plenty of menu options to choose from. If you're searching for a venue to host your next event, I highly recommend considering 690—it’s a fantastic choice!”

“I absolutely love love love this place! It has become my go to spot whenever I’m craving Balkan food.

The food is simple, fresh, and tasty. 😃 Everything has such a clean, homemade taste. I especially love their warm pita bread and fresh salad. The complimentary kaymak (cheese spread) on the side is also delicious and such a nice touch.

It’s a small, unassuming restaurant, a true little gem in Cliffside Park! If you’re looking for authentic Balkan comfort food without anything overly heavy or complicated, I highly recommend giving this place a try!”

“I'm very impressed. I believe this is the best burger chain in the area. The burger concepts are tasty, and they don't go cheap on the meat. You can really taste the quality. Also, I enjoyed the friendly attitude of the father and son (presumably) who operate the place. A friendly attitude and good service is a great compliment to great food. For this reason, I am leaving a 5 star review. If you're looking for a good burger, I would come here.”

“I really wanted to love this place. This was my second visit, and while there are a lot of things they do well, there are still some areas that need improvement.

Food:
As a Korean, I thought the chicken itself was really good. It was crispy, and I liked that they offer so many sauce options. My favorites were the Sweet & Sour and Spicy Garlic. The Smoky K-BBQ, it was meh- it wasn’t sweet, spicy, or smoky enough and tasted pretty bland. The SOS Spicy was extremely spicy (Buldak-level), so keep that in mind if you’re sensitive to heat.

I’ve tried a lot of Korean fried chicken spots in NJ, and I’d honestly rank this as one of the better ones. My biggest complaint is the sauce application. The chicken wasn’t coated evenly, with a lot of bare spots, and they weren’t very generous with the sauce, so there wasn’t enough to coat the pieces that were left plain.

The Blooming Onion was tasty but a little too greasy.The dipping sauce was also meh. The Korean Corn Ribs were good, but the portion felt small for the price.

Service:
This has been the biggest issue on both of my visits. They gave me an estimated pickup time, and I arrived after that, but my order still wasn’t ready. I ended up waiting another 5+ minutes even though I was the only customer there.

I know it’s World Cup season and everyone wants to watch the games, but the cooks were watching soccer while cooking instead of focusing on the orders. It gave the impression that the kitchen wasn’t paying full attention.

Overall, this is a good spot with some really solid food, but it has plenty of room for improvement. I hope the manager sees this review because with a little more attention to consistency and service, this place could easily become one of the best Korean fried chicken spots in the area.”

“What a great find. This is a cozy coffee shop/cafe serving up Venezuelan specialties. The arepa reina and cachapa (corn pancake) de pollo were both fantastic. It took a few minutes for the food to come out, but that's because it's a one woman show, she was making the food to order, and serving up drinks. Would highly recommend if you're in the area!”

“Wow, you really can’t tell from the outside but once inside this bar is awesome. The bartenders are genuinely in tuned with your orders and pay attention to detail. After the 1st time visiting this place, they already knew my drink orders without me saying a word lol. I was skeptical about ordering food from a bar but I’m glad my curiosity superseded my skepticism. Food was delicious. Freshly made chips and salsa, fish and chips all made just right. And the best part of it all, EXCELLENT prices. In today’s economy they still manage to keep prices beyond reasonable and doable.”

“This is a great spot for the people that are familiar with the Indian cuisine and are looking for a comfort food spot. Their chicken curry was really creamy and tasty and the meat was tender. Their waiter was really kind and patient with us but the food did take a little longer than we expected. Also when you come in to this restaurant you get a strong smell of their Indian spices and overall food which might throw away some people but definitely not me.”

“I need to say that Renee and Carrie are amazing! Very amazing service, being able to be answered in French at the boutique was amazing! I drove twice in 2 days to grab cupcakes and cookies… I cannot say what’s my favourite out of the cupcake, the brownies, the cookies etc because everything was decadent and not too sweet. You taste the quality of the ingredients and the love they put while cooking them. The fact that Carrie was answering me while the business is close is a sign that she’s passionate and that she care about her client. They’re on the expensive side compared to other bakery, but once you compare you understand why… You taste the butter in everything! If you like some fluffy, moist, creamy cupcake this is your place… While planning my wedding, I’ve compared a few bakery and non are as good as this one… Thank you for the amazing experience and taste!”

“Had a fantastic experience at Rudy’s in Cliffside Park. This is exactly the kind of old-school neighborhood Italian restaurant that feels like a true local institution. The atmosphere is cozy and familiar, and the food has that classic Italian-American comfort-food quality that keeps people coming back.

Rudy’s is especially known for its seafood, and the fried calamari is definitely something worth trying. They also have plenty of other great options, from chicken and eggplant parmigiana to baked clams, seafood pasta, linguini with clams, and other Italian favorites.

What really stood out to me was the people. The ownership was a pleasure to talk to, and I really enjoyed the conversation. You can tell there’s a genuine sense of pride in Rudy’s and in the community they’ve been serving for so long.

Overall, Rudy’s is a fantastic Cliffside Park staple. Great Italian food, great seafood, a cozy neighborhood atmosphere, and wonderful people behind the business. Definitely worth checking out!”

I usually don’t go eat at Colombian or taco spots but today I waltzed in here, and everything I ate was absolutely delicious. I ordered what the nice lady recommended. The pork loin lunch special and birria tacos. Just fantastic. Portion size is great, pricing super fair, the two ladies working there were so sweet. Seriously a solid 9.6/10 (I never give 10s). “Me having been in the this neighborhood five year, I would walk past this local bar regularly but recently I had noticed some construction inside followed by a name change. It got my attent but wasn't until a few months that I didn't actually go in and Covid did play a factor but man am I glad I did!!! Amy"s warm, genuine and warm greeting was a pleasant surprise. Then immediately you notice the open air lofty feel but with ever thing you expect in a classics traditional American bar. The perfectly sized newly constructed bar as you walk in on the right. Two midsize new pool table, the wall mounted monitor that can be seen from all angles, a perfect located dart board. But wait there is more. Amy who talked to us briefly about the new owners vision gave us the 5 cent tour ending it with the back yard. An oasis of a outdoor gathering area with tables, chairs and heater for those cool spring and summer nights entirely cover but a gazebo. Folks, Brass Rail 2 means business, they are built for you to come enjoy a beer watch baseball game on any of the monitors, play a game of pool, shoot some darts or just come and socialize with your friends or neighbors. Congratulations on building a nice local American Bar look I'm forward to spending time there unwinding after a good days work.”
